Come on Cedar Rapids, how can something like this be allowed to happen when the police have been called to the location so many times? It's rediculous that someone feels that they have to resort to getting a gun to protect their family because the police and judicial system have failed.

Unfortunately Mr. Pham made a terrible decision because, I'm sure, he felt like he had no other options. Now his family will possibly be left without a father because a long term domestic dispute was not managed correctly by the city employees that we expect to keep all our civil liberties intact.

Hey Jeremy, do you know that Pham had also throw fire bombs at the Wilson house? poor father may spend life in jail?!? are you kidding? poor father may end up dead. and what kind of father would dream of shooting at two elementary school children, besides a teenage girl. We all better pray Pham stays locked up in jail if cr's finest won't do anything when fire bombs thrown at our houses!

have to agree with former cr. self defense is not 10-12 shots, firing repeatedly, firing into a house, or firing at children. Jeremy, you missed the mark here in a big way

I completely agree with Mr. Pham spending the rest of his life in jail, he broke the law and endangered the lives of all of his neighbors with his actions. I have no sympathy for him or his actions and did not use the phrase "Poor father", former cr did. I also did not say he was using self-defense to protect his family, nrf did.

My frustration with the situation is that this racially motivated situation was allowed to continue for a period of 7 years. Numerous visits from the police and a court order of protection by the Pham family against their neighbors?? Is that the best the city of Cedar Rapids has to offer? Is this the protection I can expect for my family? Maybe I should get my license to carry as well.

Here's where I got the info I based the original comments from.
