Marie McCandless is the news editor of the Latrobe Bulletin, and I and many others feel she puts friendship with our mayor first before she reports the news here in Derry. news that should be coming out isn't due to this fact and she should be removed from here job at the Latrobe Bulletin for this reason. When one has a job like she does the news should be above friendships.

What it is a conflict of interest between the mayor and Marie that needs to end.

Look at the Pittbull attack in Latrobe not even a mention on it in our paper. It's time for a new Editor at the Bulletin

Easy solution, just buy the Trib! The latrobe paper is not really a good source of information, or even a good history lesson at best. It is more like a high priced Penny Saver!

Marie, do the right thing, report the news fair and balanced, you can do it I am sure!

If you really want something to happen write the owners of the paper and voice what you think about the job she does. if enough people write it could mean a change in how she does things. It also could mean she would be replaced if she doesn't make the change. Lets face it the way she does things now costs them paper sales.

I agree with you that buying the Trib is the right thing to do. As long as Marie is with the Latrobe paper I won't buy it.

Marie, Friends are friends, but business is business also.

I haven't purchased a Latrobe Paper in year and Marie being the editor is one more reason not too.

Marie McCandless is one reason why almost no one buys the Latrobe paper. Look at how it's gone down hill since she took over as editor. Ever time I buy one I wonder why I wasted my money on it.

Sounds like the usual suspects who think they know more about running a newspaper than the professionals, yes, like Marie McCandless. Their complaints are shallow. Hey, what do people from Elizabeth, N.J.,and West Lebanon, Pa., know about what's happening at the Bulletin or the areas it covers? Clearly, the Bulletine does a fine job covering its circulation area. It's sad when some people with a beef want to fire someone, like reporters and editors. Get a life, folks!

One can tell you have no clue about what your saying the neames of the towns under the posts have nothing to do with where the people live it's only where there ip address comes from like your says you on AOL which in it's self says alot about you. I have lived in Derry all my life it just happens that I'm using Comcast so the the name of the town is where an ip address is from thats it.

Marie should have been canned years ago she has done more to stop people from buying that paper than anyone in recent years. Just take a look at how many days it takes to get some things put in and they only appear after they are in the Trib most of the time.

You Mickeydee are the one that needs to get a life and by the way you also need to get a real ISP not one that newbees and children use.

I think Marie does a good job with what they give her to work with. I'm for keeping her.

Marie is a nice person, caught up in her friendship with some around here, small town problem. She is trying hard to seperate the issues. Good luck in your struggles M.

Marie may not be the perfect reporter but I think she does an OK job. Those complaining about her should write letters to the bulletin. But I think all newspapers require letter writers to sign their names to publish the letter. If you are afraid to sign your name then probably you have no way to back up your accusations. A personal attack on someone is easy to do when its anonymous. If you have a proper accusation to make, be responsible and sign your complete name and why not send it to the bulletin for them to publish because they probably dont even know about this site? Why don't the people writing in list where they actually live and the person responsible for this web site publish his or her name? Maybe because cowards find it easier to sling mud when no one knows who is doing the slinging. That same type of person throws projectiles off bridge, hitting unsuspecting motorists, causing fatal accidents at times. Truly a brave soul.

Why would I want to write a letter to the Latrobe paper when I stopped reading it because of marie's one sided reporting. If the owners of the latrobe paper did a little goggleing they would find out people are very unhappy with how she runs the paper and it's not onloy on this forum it's on many other forums also. marie should be told plain and simple report things as they are and set friendships aside when it comes to reporting the news or the choice is resign or be fired it's a plain and simple solution.

How she has kept that job this long I wonder everyday. They have to realize that paper has gone downhill ever since she took over.
