Judge rejects `necessity defense' in abortion case

Full story: Eureka Times Standard

A judge ruled Tuesday that Kansas law doesn't allow a so-called "necessity defense" in the trial of a man charged with killing one of the nation's few late-term abortion providers.

While murder is never ok, it is ironic that everyone says "hang him, fry him, kill him" when he killed someone who killed for a living... but that is supposed to be ok? There is no good solid reason for someone murdering their baby, especially when there are so many people out there who would be glad to take it "off their hands." Really, how do you go from being 6 months pregnant to killing your own baby and still sleep at night? If someone decided after their baby was born that they just didn't want it and then killed him/her, it would be murder and there'd be a huge outcry about how horrible this person was for killing their own child...

I'm not in favor of late term abortion butt it's legal under certain situations. Murder isn't legal. It's about breaking the law. If you don't like late term abortion, make it illegal and I would support hanging anyone who performs it.

Glad to see that Roeders case is proceeding..Personally I hope he lands in a supermax prison to contemplate how the system was not going to give him martyrdom.

Did God make a mistake? Why does abortion exist in nature? Why do animals sometimes abort their babies? Think about it, with an open mind... sometimes it has to do with survival. Don't like abortion, don't have one. Other than that, it really isn't your business.

Under KS law, he doesn't qualify for the death penalty, so he won't get any martyrdom.... well, maybe he will get a pen pal from the ArmyOfGod website. I hope his cellmate gives him the screwing he gave the doctor's loved ones.

I don't like the death penalty, but if anyone deserves it, it's Roeder.

What animals "abort their babies"? And sorry, survival really isn't an issue for ANYBODY in the United States. And U.S. law is EVERYBODY'S business. That said, I am not hardcore, I think abortion should be available for victims of rape or incest or threat to mother/fetus' health. I even am less judgemental when performed at the earliest of stages. But at 6 months I am AGAINST A WOMAN'S SO CALLED "RIGHT TO CHOOSE". It's nothing but selfishness at that point.

true, but the little sick sociopath would love to be put on death row.. It would give him another 20 years of telling everyone that he was a solder of "god".

A nice little cell in a supermax.. Where he can rant at gaurds the other sociopaths.. is the best place for him in my opinion.

Life in prison for this murderer. Death would be too easy for him, and his followers. Let him rot in prison for the rest of his useless life!

Abortion is a legal medical procedure, and it's a woman's right to choose.
