Maybe Connecticut children would score higher on tests if there was a "MERIT" PAY SYSTEM of rewarding teachers???

Why are teachers against such a system?? In the private sector, employees get a bonus for a doing a better job.

HUM????? Is someone scared of getting a pay cut?
Or worse.....GETTING FIRED?

" Race for the top", "Reach for the stars", "NCLB". Call it what you want, it's all about "teaching to the test" and the Fed trying to figure out how to stop the dumbing down of America.

I believe that it is the Feds involvement in education that brought the "dumbing down" of our children. And it's the Administrators and unions that suck up for that federal dollar so they can take care of themselves instead of the teachers and students. The money that we as taxpayers have dumped into education is so wasteful. The worst part is having to re-educate your children at the en of the week so that they don't end up a Democratic Socialist/Marxist or a Tyrannical Republican.

i mean if they don't do their SCHOOLWORK,and we reward them by passing them through, how are they going to suceed in the real world by the poor fundemental example we have taught them in school?
