A clarification: If you check, you will find that, in fact, it was Lauri Ward who pioneered the field of one day decorating and redesign and began popularizing it in 1981 with her firm Use What You Have Interiors ( redecorate.com ), and not JoAnne Lenart-Weary who started her business years later.
