Paden population 422. Wonder why?

I am truly amazed at the posts about Paden, OK. I looked up your data today; you have a population of approximately 422 people with a growth rate of relatively -4 people per year, that’s negative 4. Most of my family still lives around the Paden/Prague area. If you Google Paden, OK, do you know that the 7th item listed is all of the trash in these forums?
I have to applaud the members of the community who are actually using this website to better their community and attempt to bring the city of Paden together. Their efforts are outstanding and the kids really will prosper from it.
In reference to all of the “others”, you sound absolutely ignorant. HOW EMBARRASING! With a population of 422, do you realize that it’s not that hard to figure out who you are? Do you mud slingers, gossip mongers, finger pointers, tattletales, instigators, and people airing out their personal affairs comprehend that the ENTIRE and I mean ENTIRE WORLD WIDE WEB can read about your dirty secrets? I am wondering if the drug problems in your past have caused your maturity level to remain that of a 15 year old. Don’t you think you all have enough to do just taking care of you and yours? I don’t understand how you can have that much time on your hands to analyze every comment and continually post arguments. I have never in my life seen the amount of juvenile behavior and pettiness that a lot of you process.
I live in a single neighborhood that has more people than your entire town. Sure we have our fair share of “dope heads” as most neighborhoods/communities do. However, we don’t sling mud at each other, we EDUCATE our kids on how to handle situations concerning predators, drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol. I’m sure we all have a spot or two in our past that we are not so proud of, but the last thing you will hear me do is tell the entire world about it in a blog that my neighbors, children, friends, and family can read. I’ve learned my lessons, and changed for my children and myself. I’ve learned to act like a lady, mother, and an adult. I put my children’s needs before my own and would NEVER bring disgrace upon them by slinging trash around in a “chat room”. Have you thought of the worries you are laying on their shoulders by spewing your verbal throw-up where all of PADEN and the world can read?
So, back to the population in Paden. Is this the way you want to market your town to outsiders? Most towns in Oklahoma love growth and expansion. It’s what brings jobs to your communities; it’s what promotes diversity and change in a municipality. It would help give the children something productive to do other than “sitting at Martin’s” or whatever Paden kids do these days. Most places are trying to present themselves as “A community striving toward excellence” or “A friendly place to live.” What’s Paden’s pitch? What’s your advertisement? Is it a friendly place to live, a small town atmosphere, great church communities? Or is it what “so and so” did 20 years ago and who is sleeping with who? COME TO PADEN, WE’LL GET YOU HIGH, TELL ALL YOUR SECRETS, SLEEP WITH YOUR SPOUSE, AND THEN RUN YOU OUT OF TOWN! Paden, population 422 and falling.
Post all you want, prove my point just remember you are representing your children and the City of Paden to the entire WWW.

Thanks you all, I live in Shawnee now. Paden/Prague is a cool place to visit, but I wouldn't live there again. There's nothing like going into Beachler's and before you can get out of town, you are divorced, gained 30lbs, pregnant, and on DOPE! I guess that's what it's "still" like and nothing has changed nor will it ever. You're always 17 in your hometown, or however old you were when you made your mistakes in life.

It's just sad b/c those little towns have alot of great history and firm roots. It's our generation that has really ran it into the ground. STAND UP PADEN, EDUCATE! STAND UP PRAGUE, EDUCATE! If you think the 2 towns have nothing to do with each other you people are delusional. Going to Paden for Meth or Prague for pills is like driving across town for ice cream to us....you can't exterminate the dopers. I think that its very easy to get caught up in all the mud slinging and fighting that has been going on here and forget the real issues. It all started with the drugs, and getting our children our of harms way. It's a very worthwile and noble cause.
One thing I won't stand for is for someone to trash talk Paden. Yes, it's a small town. And yes, most people there are related to each other in some way or another, and so therefore, fight like families do. Everyone knows everyone's business there, because it is such a small town, and word gets around. People talk about each other in Paden, but they also help each other in Paden.
Very few towns will you find a community like Paden. Someone has cancer and needs help paying the bills? The churches will have a singing and raise some money. Someone's house burns down? Someone is there raising money and taking up donations. Someone dies in Paden? People are there helping each other, cooking food, donating money or time to help out. It is a good little town. I was born and raised there and I'm proud of it. I don't live there now, but I still consider it my town, my hometown. My family still lives there. I was a very fortunate child in the fact that I could walk across town and never had to worry about getting kidnapped or molested, or offered drugs. When I got older, yes, drugs were there, and yes I was offered them. My parents didn't go on a witch hunt. They had already instilled the fear of God in me, no way was I going to do drugs. Paden is a good family oriented town that is excellent for raising children. It does take a village to raise a child, and in Paden you have that. Someone will be telling you what your child is doing. Some may call it nosy, but I call it a help. there is no way to know what your child is doing all the time. It helps to have people look out for them as well.
Towns have bad things happened in them all the time. It doesn't make the townspeople bad, although some may be misdirected at times. Paden is not a town of inbreeders, hillbillys, or even true rednecks. For the most part they are good, church going hardworking Americans who want the best for their children. Who can fault them for that? I don't think what they are doing is an embarrassment, I think people ought to take notice and follow suit. They are cleaning up their town and I think thats great.
The name callling and stuff like that is just stupid and it needs to stop. It will solve nothing. Pointing fingers and namecalling solves nothing. Paden needs to do what Paden does best. Close ranks and sweep this trash out of town. But do it together instead of tearing the town down from the inside out.

that's exactly what my post was about. I moved when i graduated but have TONS of family who live there and the rest are buried there. I would love to see Paden become the God fearing community of yesteryear. But these forums are littered with idiocracy and filth. I know all about the trash in town. I read it right here in these forums, just like the rest of the world, along with more than i cared to know about some of the people who post on here. That's what I don't understand, why is it that everyone is so easy to jump all over someone when they simply point out the obvious? I AM NOT PUTTING DOWN PADEN! guys we are not just going after these people because drugs are a sin, yes all those sins you jsut mentioned are just as wrong in God's eyes and none of them will get you in heaven. But none of those sins are hurting and killing our families! That is why we are making such a big deal about the drugs...

Cool your jets. My mother, father, brother, granmother are still associated with Paden as well in the past my granfather graduated from Paden as well as the fact I may find my self back there. SO it means alot what goes on there. If it is as bad there as you say on this it is not a little ol town!

Well I just wanted to say I live in Shawnee as well!! And though it may be 30 mins away it is a very big dif. Im from Prague and I love Prague we go back there to visit all the time. My child loves it to play and run free something she can not do as much here in Shawnee. But one thing I can say people are not in your biz as much as they are in Prague and Paden!! They actually have things to do besides sit at each others homes and talk about what is goin on in other peoples lives. There is not as much girl fightin b/c there is lots of men here they do not have to sleep wit eachothers men and when one person sleeps wit another its not like sleepin wit the hole town!! Cause there is more than 423 people there!!!!

it took me forever to get out of paden and my kids tell me daily how much they miss it. i'm sorry to say i can't agree with them. i hope i never have to go back to paden to live. for the people there are truly cruel and hateful and mean spirited. instead of trying to run the people away, way don't you give a hug, a smile, or just a kind word' help change paden with love and kindness. maybe these people just need to see that people in paden care.i didn't see it while i lived there and i figure no one else will. until the busy bodies get there life right. good luck with the population thing.lol.

It took me a while to get out of Paden as well. I still have family there. I love Paden itself. I lived there for over 25 years. It's some of the people that make it bad. Everyone is always to busy getting into everyone else business. It has been that away every since I can remember. Even when I was in high school it was that away. IF the rumors that people told about me when I was in school where true....I would have had 17 kids and would still be there...lol But I don't and I am not. Paden is a great place as long as you don't talk to the mean and cruel people that just make your life and theirs hell. My kids and I do miss it and some of the people in Paden but we DO NOT miss everyone being in our buiness. We live in a town now were no one gets into our buiness and are very happy about that. If people in Paden would just mind there own the population would grow. But that is never going to happen. :(
