Help Angel the Dog - Needs surgery at the Wyoming County SPCA

This is about Angel - a miniature pincher

She was surrendered to the Wyoming County No-Kill SPCA (Attica NY) on February 26th, 2008. She was given to her owner as a Christmas
present.

This little girl was born in October 2007, which makes her almost 5
months old.

She has spent all of her life struggling to walk, but not very successfully.

The owners took her to three veterinarians, all of the estimates were in the same range of $2000.00 to $4000.00 dollars.

The owners can not afford this. So rather than "put her out of her misery" they surrendered her to The Wyoming County SPCA No Kill
Shelter.

They are trying to raise money for her. The surgery is going to be expensive along with the after care and the xrays. The vet said that her elbows were backwards, which is a genetic defect.

The good news is that it is fixable!

The bad news is that is will be expensive.

What they are hoping and praying for is for her to get some sponsors to help with the surgery.

She doesn't know that her legs are not supposed to hurt and be crooked. If you would like to be one of her sponsors send your donation to:

Wyoming County SPCA
808 Creek RD, RT 98
PO Box 151
Attica, N.Y. 14011

Please mark it as Fund for Angel.

Or you can donate using the Paypal button on their webpage found here:

http://wcspca.net/contact.html

Please go to the webpage to see the pictures of Angel and her leg problems.

Thank you.

God bless you,Margaret. Some people just don't get it.
4 MILLION animals are killed in shelters every year. 4 MILLION! Most of them would have made wonderful pets, yet because of over population due to irresponsible people they are thrown away like trash.

Animals are "thinking","fee ling" and "experiencing" beings. They have basic rights, because they have the capacity to suffer.
We have a duty to protect those rights.

Honestly, It's about time this place went under. It's a horrible SPCA, they take poor care of the animals. It smells, it's cramped. And not to mention getting a cat from them is horrible! They're picky beyond understanding, and have rude staff. Ask to volunteer, sure, have a good time walking around a smelly humid room full of a hundred or so cats, petting them all. They don't let you do anything else, stuff that needs to be done and you can tell because it smells so bad. They have a pile of crates in the middle with cats suffering in them. It's honestly a disgusting facility. All animals should be spread out when this place (finally) shuts down. Give them to the Genesee County Animal shelter, god knows they'll give the damn cat attention it deserves.

They wouldn't have that problem at this SPCA, if she didn't hord the cats and kittens, There is one large room say 40 x60' in length that is piled high with cats, adult cats and older cats, and some teenage cats....I realize this is a NO KILL SHELTER and that inits self is the problem, some of the cats have resided there for over 5 years. I use to work as A Volunteer there, until I was so over whelemed myself, and over thoes 5 years ending up bringing 8 cats home, Yes they are all spaded and nutured...they have thier shots, and have found a loving home, but then there are thoes that Languish in thier cages, and won't even come out of thier cages to greet possible "new parents" they have become so depressed.Everyone within driving distance, comeon down and "take a new friend home", for the most part, all the cats are great, no bitters, and just want a bit of TLC, or a scratch on the head, or too be held...For each person that was to walk thru that door, and put 1.00 into a "Kitty Jar" that would help.

as I reside near the Spca, There are many thoughtless persons that "dump thier kittens" on our front lawn. And this Spring alone we took 32 unwanted kittens to the SPCA, and out of thoes 32 kittens 1 has been addoted. That's a said state of affairs don't you think?

as a past volunteer...I have suggested CRAFT SHOWS to bring in money for this SPCA< and even would run it for them...But that was poo-poo'd down....Craft shows make good money... and crafters support many schools in Erie County, yet here was a viable way to make some money, and I got a Flat NO....Whiskers Wagon from the Erie Co SPCA, takes animals, dogs and cats to local malls for adoption...and this Wyoming SPCA at a craft show could have done the same thing...have a craft show, rent spaces or tables for 30.00 a piece, and bring the cats along for adoption...It was a win-win idea, money from the crafters= and cats adopted out....OH YES you have to sign a form from the SPCA in Wyoming County, that your cat will reside ONLY indoors..My cats that I adopted from the Wyoming Co SPCA, have the run of the house, and my dad and husband built a large Cat Condo outside that is totally fenced, with platforms that are enclosed with mess wiring ect, and yes they get to nibble on grass that grows in thier kitty condo, and they can acess it directly from the house, without running free...heaven forbid that they do that, forever run free due to the contract that YOU MUST sign before the"director" lets you have a kitten or a cat.

If anyone wants to help out the Wyoming County SPCA and doesn't have the funds to do it, I would like to start a fundraiser. We can sell Home Interior candles. I am a consultant. The SPCA would make 50% of the profit. I make 12% that I WILL DONATE TO THE SPCA. Anyone willing to take a fundraising form and start selling candles for this great cause please email me at Darmel@netscape.com. Let's show what a great community Buffalo has!!
Nice idea, but they wouldn't even accept the help last year when they were in the same finical shape, when I offered to set up a CRAFT SHOW for them, they just poo-pood the idea....Craft shows make $$$$ for Schools, and Firehalls, Does this director think that she is someone special? Money is money...ITS just poor management. Take a ride down to the SPCA, and see for yourself. The smell is over whelming, piles and piles of Cat and Dog poop in the dumpsters...UCK...and the flies this summer...OMG!!! The shelter needs to close..or get a new manager.

All I can say is the lady that runs the place is a real lunatic. Maybe she can live amongst the animals.
