Isnt there one already in Denver?? Where Untouchables Pizza, Foodlion BurgerKing, Sagebrush and all that is or is that not consider Denver? lol
LTN doesnt focus on Boger City or Lincolnton. Or atleast about spend more time on other stories. I look around at other papers online and they are soo much more indepth when it comes to community news.
This story should of been about opening day. For the LINCOLNTON Store. And What it means for that area of town. What future improvements or stores will be coming down the line and how custmors/workers enjoyed the 1st day.
Instead...The Lincolnton Times tells us
Its like one paragraph about Lincolnton and the rest is about Denver.

That Walgreens you are refering to is in Catawba County, not Denver. I have not noticed any other media reporting anything on the opening of this store. I would like to know what you are talking about. Truthfully, the opening on the Lincolnton store is nothing to write about. I read that story, and did not feel like there was one thing in it that was worth reporting about the Lincolnton store. However, hearing about the new store in coming to 16 & 73 was news worthy. The ltn is 1/2 local stuff and half AP stories, and the sports is a total joke now. The ran a photo of a boy's basketball player and said it was a girl in this week's edition. everyone got a laugh out of it except Scott Cloniner. I heard Scott has a nice lil talking witt the new editor at the ltn. and yes, I am from Lincolnton.

The part under your name says Charlotte, so nice that you added Lincolnton.
I didnt mean about this story..I meant local in general as you mention its 1/2 local and 1/2 AP. But I live in Boger City and most of the news I read in LTN often seems to reflect the Denver area.
But I have an example: Remember Charter Cable moved recently? LTN waited a few weeks after the move and opening to annouced it had moved...the weeks inbetween people were trying to pay their bills at the old place dispite the notice on the windows they had moved.
But just imagine how conivent it would of been for LTN to give a nice heads up before the move or the day after it closed.
Theres a section on the Gazette's Website where they run a rundown of newly register business's (from the Sec of NC website) in the area including a writer who answers questions about changes to local business. They even talk about possible leads/bids currently going on. LTN's website is a lesser verison of the paper as you mentioned half (if not more than) are just AP Stories to begin with)
The CarolinaScoop an online source who is hated by a lot of people has pushed through a few nice nuggets of interesting infomation.
Like you know the Ford place? notice some contruction going on there? according to The Scoop its going to be a newly built Autozone. A quick look on a bid site confirms it.
Now, thats nice to know wouldnt you agree? Well, maybe you wouldnt ... I find it nice to know. I like to know about stuff before or while it happens.
Maybe thats just me, because I dont really care what is being built in the Denver area as you pointed out I thought Catawba County was Denver. I tell ya why or how I was confused. Remember when Stagebrushed closed...the 1st time? And then they reopend and they claimed that the customers at the Denver location wanted it back in Lincolnton. So, I sort of guessed that was apart of Denver.
Well, that and how the address on Google Maps says the address is Denver...lol
For me and my family going to Walgreens was like a once a year thing...if not once every two or three years...simply because we could just stay in Boger City. Now, we have Walgreens and it would of been nice for the paper to reflect that considering how I went on opening day at around 7 at night and the parking lot was full. They had some deals and my family and I have already been three times since its open. For almost anything you can think of. Its not your typical Main Street Lincolnton Store.
