Deming Wildcats Football Team

I was a spectator at the Deming Alamogordo football game Friday night in Alamogordo. First let me say I am not from Alamogordo and was there to watch the band not the game. However, I played sports in high school and have always enjoyed watching and supporting high school sports.
The wildcats came out to play and played hard. For that I will say good job. But, the sportsman ship they demonstrated was a disgrace. Playing high school sports you were always taught when a player from either team in injured everyone takes a knew in respect for the injured person. One of the Alamogordo kids was hurt pretty badly at fault of one of the Deming players and had to be taken out by ambulance. I haven't heard how he is or what was wrong, but I sure hope he is okay. Deming boys were playing for blood and it was obvious. When this young man was down half of the team didn't even take a knee. I do realize kids will get hurt playing football, but to show no respect for the person injured is tasteless for one and for two to try and initially hurt players is just darn right wrong.
The coaches should be ashamed for allowing them to play like that and their parents aren't any better!

I was there too and I saw all of the wildcats kneel until they were taking him off the field. However, the tiger players stood up before he was removed and one of the players was walking around wildly yelling. Talking about bad sportsmanship, this kid was heard telling his fellow teammates to punch them (wildcats) in the face and the mouth. The tiger players were playing dirty. Guess what? I am from Deming and was invited to sit in the VIP area on the Tiger side. We saw what was going on, on the Tiger bench. Cats played great no outstanding ball and the opposing team was frustrated. It happens. But the cats weren't playing for blood, they didn't have to stoop to those levels.

They did not kneel the entire time! I don't know what game you were at but it sure wasn't the one I was at. I did see the Tiger kid yelling, but not until they were going to load him in the ambulance. What he was saying was, "they won't do this to us, this is our house"! I never said they didn't deserve to win, they out played the Tigers... I agree with that! But, you will never have me believe that their sportsman ship was right. I saw one player just walk around another one down and not even try to help him up... Good sportsmanship to me is tackle them, then help them up after the play. Be proud of your tackle for sure! But remember it is a game and you must respect each other! I don't think the Tiger boys ever played for blood... And that hit that took the kid off was bad! We can argue this all you want I won't change my opinion!

First of all the hit that you are referring to was a result of the returner not calling for a fair catch. It was a split second to early, but if you've played sports like you claim it's not that easy to make that decision at full speed.
Second, the kid got up and walked away then fell down at midfield. The wildcat players didn't know he was hurt until after the trainers ran on the field. Once they found out they kneeled.
Third, if we were such bad sports, why did we put in our 2nd string in the 3rd quarter? If we hadn't the score would have easily been 59-7. Also my son said the Tigers were one of the worst crap talking teams he'd ever played. So take your loss with a little more class.
P.S. I hope the kid that was hurt is doing okay.

I already told you it was not my loss... I was there to watch the band. I don't know anyone on the team!
Of course sense your son is on the team you are going to support them. I called it as I saw it! Take it leave it!

Ok lets settle this thing and move on. Who's got the video tape of the game? Just watch it and see who took a knee and who didn't. That should settle this once and for all. Move on.
