In response to "Teen Program needs support", all the suggestions made by the youth are valid and need attention. Items #3, 4, 5, 8, 9, and possibly 10 seem to be connected or overlap with each other. Drug abuse education, prevention and interventions as well as sex education, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases are something that DPS, parents and religious organizations should be teaching or talking to their kids about. As for item #1, I also agree that improvements are needed at the skate park, maybe planting some trees or putting up a shade canopy and benches and water fountain. As far as bringing back the drive in theater,(oh, those were the days ) make reference to #5, besides we have an indoor theater and need to make more use of it. Maybe showing movies outdoors at the park could make up for the drive in. The battle of bands could be held at the amphitheater and get some use for once. Just some ideas. One thing we had back in the day when we were young was dances with live bands. They were a blast.

Those kids have no shade to protect themselves from the sun during the summer. And they also need to put some trash cans there. I have passed by there in the past and seen lots of trash everywhere. It does not make for a good impression of Deming as you enter Deming from the west side.

Speaking of improvements in Deming......who voted to take the fountain down at leyndecker plaza ? The new design Does not fit the buildings downtown . The fountain added the elegance of past days and fit beautifully with buildings on the city walking tour.

The visitor center could have used the funds for a sitting area with Shade and benches and use their rendition of mimbres Indian design to enhance their current location.

I like the fountain, itís pretty, and I think we need a few more like both of the entrances off of I 10 would be cute. Of course someone will say itís a bad Idea, and the ugly weeds look better
