Typical stuff. Boy Blunder aka the Mayor and his cronies have screwed up again. I hate being the laughing stock of Central Florida, but until we vote out Ringling Brothers and actually get a viable city government in place, this will always be the norm.

I think it is a shame that the City of Deltona is not more concerned about unethical behavior possible happening in our city. The Mayor and City commission should be taking this serious and a full investigation should be conducted. Maybe there is some truth to all of this and the acting city manager and city attorney should be looked at closer. I think it is pretty low for the Mayor to continue to blame these problems on our past City Manager, the Mayor should be working at getting it right this time before no one will want to work in our city.

What does uncomfortable mean? If she has legitimate complaints then lets hear them. Without some details she may just be sour over her salary and have no actual reason to complain.

What's going on in this city? How corrupt does the city government have to be before s somebody stops it? The HR head seems to be honest and wanted the city to tow the line with how they do things and wasn't going to go aong with doing unethical things. The Mayor steps in and now it's some political thing? As a person who lives in Deltona I would have liked to see the Mayor say that this would be looked into instead of trying to kick it to the curb by blaming politics. Now for sure I feel that something happened like the HR head says. Honest people want to get the truth not try to take someone down and cover things up.
The mayor seems to be trying to protect some peo-le here.
Who can we get to check this out? It sure won't be the Mayor he has a closed mind already.I want the commission to stand up and demand someone check this out.

How do you spell R-E-C-A-L-L? Is that the only way we can bring professionalism and ethics back to city government in Deltona? Mulder and his stooges need to go! Where is the State Attorney when you need him?

I can spell RECALL but I don't know how to do it. Lead us deltadeltona. Where do I sign? Seriously though things have been looking pretty bad here for a few years. I'm not sure what's up but something stinks.Too many things hit the newspapers and then the city always says somebody is lying about things. Hell are we to believe everyone is a liar? Where there's smoke there's fire. This lady was a new kid on the block and seem she didn't want to go along with business as usual.
I know that we can't keep up this way for a couple more year for damn sure. The election is too far off for my liking. Will RECALL end this?

I've never been interested in politics, so I don't know what's involved. It is an option in FL, though. Surely, there are still leaders in our community who have the knowledge and backbone to take us through a recall effort! We can't let dark forces prevail.

As much as I like that word, it is not the solution to the problems we Deltonan's wake up to each and every day.

A. Volusia County, at last count had 508,000 residents one sixth of which reside in the City of Deltona. We are represented at county level by Pat Northey. Is everyone good with Ms. Northey?

B. Mulder was elected because he wasn't Horn. Is everyone good with that?

C. Who in the %$&@ voted for the handful of political hobbiests, goofballs and complainers that assume that this city is like some homeowners association. Who voted for the wheelchair guy? I didn't see his name on the ballot.

Those who wish to improve Deltona should first learn about their city and region, then vote thoughtfully for those who might best represent them keeping in mind that Deltona is the largest city in Volusia and the second largest in Central Florida.

They made the mess. I don't think most of them care about anything but their egos and their own money and how much can they make off the taxpayers for personal use. Feathering their own nest at our expense. I've never been as embarrassed to say where I live as I am right now.
Something needs to happen.

The citizens of Deltona voted for the lot that is currently running the City Commission. The comments from the citizens that I heard were as ignorant as those voiced by the City Commission. The citizens should hold the commission responsible for the actions (or inactions) that they take. All one has to do is listen to the commission meetings, if you don't have Brighthouse you can listen on-line. Go to http://easylink.playstream.com/winlive/delton... and listen to what is said. The citizens need to elect commission members that are interested in doing what is fiscally responsible, hiring honest and hardworking city administrators who are skilled at running a municiple government and not sway at every political BIG WIND. There is currently a City Charter Review Committee looking at the City Charter and will be making referendum recommendations. PAY PARTICULAR attention to what they recommend, decide what is TRUELY best for Deltona. Focus on improving what Deltona has and grow the business to develop a strong tax base. Expanding to gather more residential areas will not improve the tax base, but, it will increase the infrastructure and support costs!

I'm not in good with her but I found her e-mail address online, it is pnorthey@co.volusia.fl.us ,,maybe if someone sent her an e-mail she might listen, i'm not good with words as you can tell, but I can tell when the city is about to implode. It looks like we tax payers will have to try to fix things the city government isn't. Any takers good with words willing to e-mail Pat Northey? She may not be able to do anything but maybe she can advise us what to do.

...Pat Northey is a career politician, and not much better than what you have running Deltona into the mud...Besides, she is not a city official, thus has zip authority there...
...Since there appears to be more to this Sentinel story, why isn't the Sentinel doing more to reveal whatever is missing from it?
...Answer: The Sentinel doesn't want to get the whole story--it just wants you suckers to think that it does...

What are you talking about, expanding to gather more residential areas will support infrastructure and support cost, WHAT??? Thgis is off the wall! Support cost, pray TELL what's that me??
What does any of this have to do with this story??
This committee appointed by Commissioners are nothing but their way of getting what they want on the referendum. The city is coorupted and some of the commission need to go.
A outsider was hired to do a job, she now is claiming what others have said, that things are wrong at city hall. There is a hard core group in control of the city breaking rules and the law. This is what has been claimed by people living here. She confirms it by her statements and she has no political agenda. Deltona needs a good cleaning up and I don't mean just the filthy roads way but city government it self.

Tell you what YOU contact her and see what she says and if she rides to our rescue. I wager we won't hear from you agian on this matter.

Why do you instantly believe the woman who worked for this city for 8 days and declare her to be honest? It's just as likely that she was unhappy being turned down for a pay increase within a week of starting work and decided to quit. It wouldn't look very good for future employment opportunities, unless she could blame the city somehow. I don't know her, can't say whether she is honest or not. But I believe every story has at least two sides. In this one, you have one person saying one thing and two saying the opposite. Why believe one over the other? I guess its a matter of choice. We all believe what we want to believe.

The commission had a chance to let us taxpayers get the whole story and pretty damn quickly shot it down. I ask WHY? They shouldn't leave it out there for us to make the choice they should be looking to give us facts. The city attorney was accused of the same thing this woman accused him of several months earler by the previous city manager. No coincidence if you ask me that they both sae the same things. They weren't employed with the city at the same time and have no connection to each other. Then Stubbs who left the city came in a backed up the statements. We all should want the answers.
