I think I would drink to excess if I lived in Deltona. What else is there to do.

What else is there to do. . .well you could go mudding or catfish noodling , you could get pregnant @ 14 ,you could have a 25000 dollar home with a 90 grand mud truck out front ,maybe some frog giggin, you could become a big fat woman and dress like a 5 dollar hooker , the list goes on .Long as you complete any ensemble with a tallboy of natty ice and a mullet your gonna fit just fine , and remember camouflage is always a viable alternative to dress clothing here .I live here , hate it here and whats worse is Im stuck here ...

It sounds worse then I thought, not that it has a good reputation. Is there anything good about the place?

Well last night at about 730 pm , on my block like 15 prs decided to get into a huge fight and 5 cops were here, cars racing up and down the block etc ..one of the ginormous women was screaming at someone in a car with a baby in hand ..and I live in a better part of deltona . I have yet to find anything good about deltona at all...Serioously I travel to lake mary and heathrow to do just about everything .Actually the best thing about deltona is the amazing response time of the VCSO here .

I live in the back corner of Deltona, there is only one way into my neighborhood and my closest neighbors have cows and chickens. Even here I get the occasional bass thumping drag racer at 3am in the morning. It's rediculous. I have see houses that were considered "nice" a year ago become rented out and now their garage doors are barely hanging on the track, and tires & cars litter the backyards. It makes me ill to see Deltona becoming the Pine Hills of Volusia County.

I ve watched all the retirees move or die in the last 3 years on my block , the b@astard children of these people dont care, the houses are paid for and they rent to any pos that floated over on a freakin sponge ..It really is becoming volusias pine hills . anyone can afford to live here , the trailer trash considers this a step up , and the 3rd world garbage , well this is like beverly hills to them from where they come from..the as@hole section 8 accross from me wanted to move back to PR so he could have chickens in his yard without hassels .GO BACK THEN I said.this city is filled with trash sucking on the govts teets..

I have also had the experience of living in Deltona, though the neighborhood I lived in was called Enterpise/Stone Island because they wanted to be considered different. We had property on the canal, only 20% of the time there cold you move a boat throgh to the St. Johm's River. Was is low and mucky. It was the worse experience. I lived next door to the trashiest people! Trash sprawled out on their yard, all their junk 'decorating' their driveway. So much so that when I would come home after work they're cars were in MY driveway - cops were useless. Their dogs were roaming the neighborhoods tearing up other's property...with the crap they left behind. Animal Control must have been called 2 dozen timesby many. But did nothing. But ahhh, the final straw..the Crack Whre that lived next door would sneak to my house to drink with my husband while her's was way to work, and I was away to work. After Tropical Storm Fay, I packed up and never moved back. Deltona is a nasty place. There's so much better outside of Volusia County...especially West Volusia.

Well, unfortunately, with the market the way it is and house values down, those of us who take care of our properties are going to have to grit out teeth and bear it for a few more years. Once the market picks up...I'm out of here!

Once the market picks up...I'm out of here! What kind of a price can you put on your sanity? I got out 10 years ago. I could have waited another 2 or three years and really made a killing on the real estate but living there was driving me nuts. Deltona started going down the chute after hurricane Andrew. Deltona's a nice place to be.......from.

Maybe it comes from coming home drunk and not stopping in time

Maybe it comes from coming home drunk and not stopping in time hysterical but so true, the trash on my corner hadnt had one in a year until recently.I have no understanding of this at all. But I have yet to understand alot of the Florida lifestyle too.one good example is women going to the stores in pajamas and slippers , super expensive vehicles in front of hovel homes or trailers , and the one I cant figure out the most is the fact that every girl Ive seen under 21 has more than one kid (ok maybe not every one but more than not ) can noone understand that 25 bux a month for birth control pills is cheaper than a baby ? Or a Box of trojans , cmon its almost 2010 , we all know abstinence isnt working
