Hastings stirred by plans for new hospital

HASTINGS - Pennock Health Services announced this month plans to build a new $60 million hospital outside Hastings by 2012. via Lansing State Journal

Just curious, exactly how many square feet does the present Pennock facility use, including parking lots, the physicians offices and the facility fronting on State street. How many square feet will be requied for the projected new facility on the 32 acre Ferris farm? What is the cost difference between razing the Pennock Village complex, adding it to the property you already own fronting on State street and building there? It seems to me that four square city blocks should be more than enough space to provide adequate facilities to serve this community for the forseeable future.
