Allegan inmate escapes for 3 minutes

An inmate escaped from the Allegan County Jail Thursday morning -- but he was caught three minutes later.

His mug shot should read "Tool". In the length of a commercial break he tacked on 2 more charges. Very amusing!

Allegan is one of the hardest counties on those who break the law, now he knows this first hand. What a big mistake he's made..... Hope he doesn't have any kids becuz 1 of him is enough!!!

That is just one of the main reasons on why the Allegan County Jail does not belong sitting there, right in the middle of town! Luckily it ended quick and no one was hurt....this time.

We've lived close to downtown Allegan for 10 years and have had at least 8 escapes during that time. You are right - the new jail needs to be built out of town. If there weren't so many local lawyers that own rental houses across the street from the old jail, maybe it would be moved out of town. As it is, these lawyers are seeing dollar signs for their slum lord level houses close by. Money talks.
