I think that it is interesting that Jeff Lammers is the new pastor of Dell Baptist Church. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't most of the people that voted him in his family? Isn't he a farmer? Will he continue to farm? If so, how will he be able to do both? Is he going to take part time pay from the church if he continues to farm? Just come small questions!

He is a very devoted person to him family, friend, and the Lord. There's not many out there like him. He deserve all the praising people can give him. I myself do not live in Dell but would love to attend his church. No one need to be talking about him if they want to get to heaven.

Yes, his family did vote him in....His church family. I do go to Dell Baptist and my family and I love Jeff and his family.(and no we are not related) He does a great job and he is actually one of the best pastors that I have ever seen. I really don't feel that his pay or lack there of is any concern of anyones unless they are a voting member of the church.

Church family? There were actual relatives of his that voted him in! I'm not saying anything to the question of him being a good pastor or not.(Which I don't believe that he went to the seminary to be a qualified pastor. Which is important for dealing with the actual counseling aspect of being a pastor.) I'm simply stating the fact that Dell needs a full time pastor. If he is going to continue to farm then he will be a part time pastor. I think he would be great if he received professional training and quit farming.

FYI, a pastor does not have to have a seminary education to be a good pastor. There are a number of effective pastors that have neither a college degree or seminary. Sounds like you are trying to make seminary a qualification for being a pastor.

I know that Jeff has at least a masters degree and he and his family spent at least two years in Uganda as foreign missionaries. Whether he chooses to farm or not has no bearing on his being a pastor. A lot of pastors work and pastor a church, too. Maybe Dell doesn't pay enough salary to have a full time pastor.

Just to make a point. The weekend that Jeff was voted in...his relatives were out of town. So yes his CHURCH FAMILY voted him in. AND if you are not a voting member of the church why do you care so much about his pay and qualifications? It is really none of your concern. Worry about your church and not his!

Wow, "your" church seems very welcoming! How do you know that I am not a member of Dell Baptist already and am voicing my concerns!

Isn’t his degree in Agriculture since he is a farmer? If not just Agri, then that would be great! One of the most important parts of being a pastor is the ability to counsel families that need guidance and direction with whatever may be overwhelming them at that time. That is my point. I feel that Dell deserves someone that has those fundamental qualifications to be a true minister of its church members! I am not saying anything to the fact that he is not a great man and has done wonderful things. To the statement that Dell doesn’t have enough money to have a full time pastor is unjustified. They have a parish, assume all living expenses and allow a salary. As I recall a life of a minister is not that one of great wealth or it is not designed to. If he is the one for Dell, then that is great, but demand the proper training that is required!

I think Jeff and his family is great and set wonderful examples of what true Christians are supposed to be. I do agree with the training that ALL ministers should be required to have regarding the counseling aspect. I'm sure that he would be willing to seek whatever is needed to be a great minister. Good Luck and always remember that the world wasn't built in a day and it takes time and experience to be great at just 1 thing much less than many at one time!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
