i think it has a whole lot more to do with "who you know" than the police force. That's just an excuse because we dont like to admit how corrupt the inner circle is! It just gets a lil old hearing all the complaining about the police force when I dont see any of you stepping up!

who said he got a DWI in Abbeville. I heard he (Todd) wrecked head on last month with Lonnie Dubois (cane truck) around 3 am and he was only in his underwear...... what kind of idiot other than a drunk or high one leaves home @ 3 am in his underwear.

I think as one of the comments from the Advertiser said OJ got 10 yrs for trying to take back his memrobelia....... THIS BOY SHOULD GET LIFE FOR TAKING 3 INNOCENT LIVES.

Many times DWI's cant be successfully prosecuted due to police error. It is an especially big problem in Abbeville due to the poorly trained police force.
Yeah, keep blaming the POLICE, if that's what you believe. They made him drive , right.

Yea kinda brings me to the conclusion it's not WHAT YOU KNOW..... IT'S WHO YOU KNOW OR WHO YOU BLOW!!! You don't have to follow the law if you KNOW OR BLOW the right people.....

I know a lady (not what I want to call her) is a drunk!!! Everyday by 10 am she is drunk!! With a 7 month old and an 11 yr old daughter. She was caught in bed at her camp with a married man by her 16 Yr old daughter......Needless to say, went thru a divorce. She is a druggie and a drunk drives to school with the baby in the truck to get her 11 yr old DRUNK BUT...... SHE LIVES WITH A STELLY FROM FORKED ISLAND NEED I SAY MORE HE IS FRIENDS WITH COUVILLION..... AND SHE IS RELATED TO PETE BROUSSARD FROM ERATH...... SO SHE NEVER GETS BUSTED FOR THE DRUGS OR THE DWI......

WHERE IS OCS..... WHERE IS THE LAW...... SHE KNOWS AND PROBABLY BLOWS THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

Call OCS for what.... The B**ch probably blows there too..... Or the SO will stop that.... The Erath PD will not do anything because of Pete Broussard. Her 11 yr old is raising the 7 month old. Has to feed, change and bathe the baby, after school as she is too drunk BUT goes get the 11 yr old DRUNK at school.... Same as Todd something bad will have to happen before something kicks in..

I hope when the bad happens it is not involving MY KID because I WILL NOT WAIT ON THE PO PO TO DO SOMETHING!!!!

Thanks, I read that article and there's another one in the Advertiser online. Vincent's first DWI offense in 2006, Harson claims was dismissed "in error" and then you have all of these offenses this fall.

From the article:

"On Sept. 19, the prosecutor handling that case entered a nolle prosequi entry into the record for the charge, which meant to the state no longer sought to prosecute Vincent."

Anyone know who is "the prosecutor handing the case that entered a nolle prosequi"? I would suspect it is a Vermilion Parish - based ADA.

I've had deallngs with the DA's office and I am less than impressed with Harson - among others. Yes, time for a new DA.

This is what happens when you cont to get HELP from "people you know" and when you "have the means of paying". MONEY AND WHO YOU KNOW IS THE POWER OF THIS AREA........ what if this was one of the family members of "WHO" helped this guy that would have gotten killed how would they feel????

Don't blame Mr. Harson. The office can't prosecute something the police made mistakes on. Over half of all criminal cases can't be prosecuted because of police error. In Abbeville, it is around 75%.

Vincent pleaded no contest to the August 2008 charge and paid a citation.

"He got a lucky break on the first one," Harson said.

In the Sunday wreck, Vincent was headed south on La. 318 in a 2004 Ford truck when he drove into the direct path of a Ford Taurus that was headed north on the same roadway and hit it head on, state police said.

The driver, 40-year-old Priscilla Williams, her 15-year-old daughter Kadijah Williams and her 41-year-old brother Leroy Williams, all of Franklin, were pronounced dead at the scene.
How "lucky" do you think that family feels that had 3 members all die due to Vincent getting by with slaps on the wrist, despite multiple offenses.

From the Advertiser Article:

"Before this crash, Vermilion Parish court records indicate that the man has faced a long list of traffic charges, including three DWI first offenses, speeding, and careless operation, among others."

Now, how does anyone get "three DWI first offenses" - he must have kept getting annulments on his DWI offenses. Which only leads me ask the question, yet again: If you get married and have the marriage annulled, are you still a virgin?

That line of "Louisiana thinking" leads to tragic situations like this.

3 first time DWIs. How can that be? Harson admits to mistake. Sloppy Police work. Excuses. Why can't Harson and other public officials "fix" this problem, like the previous tickets apparently got "fixed". Police & D.A.s are in place to protect the innocent. Three people died... no, were killed. Technicalities and politically granted immunity gets in the way of justice. Is this the American way?
