Sometimes even police need to be reminded to not drive faster than conditions allow.
As for the wrecked police car, there's plenty of money to replace it.

Im sure the officer ticketed the truck driver for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

If most of the IDIOTS out there would just slow down a little bit they'd be fine!!

Most of them drive like it's the freakin Daytona 500!!

Wow, people really just can't stop picking on the police, just keep kicking them while they are down. With the support they get around here I don't know why they even want to work for Tulsa. More directly related to this story...love how once again everyone assumes the cop screwed up. Which maybe he/she did, but it is possible to slide on ice even when going slow.

Me and my husband were going south on 169 and crossing the Bird Creek bridge from Owasso today when we had an encounter of Road Rage! We slowed down due to the patchy ice and some guy in a black Hummer got upset and tail-gated us and then he decided to get in front of us. He then decides to STOP in the Middle of the highway in the slow lane in the middle of traffic and gets out of his Hummer and gives me and my husband a hand jester letting us know he wanted to start something!! I guess he was on a power trip. Before I could call 911 he gets back in his vehicle and speeds off and then goes in and out of traffic. I am so thankful nothing more happened with that guy and that we didn't get into an accident due to we had to put on our hazzard lights when he decided to confront us in the middle of traffic. We are very lucky to be alive today!! I hope he did not do that to someone else or cause an accident. It's hard enough to drive when the roads are icy and getting impatient and angry makes the roads even more unsafe. He put not only our lives but other lives of motorist (including the semi that passed us just as the guy was stopping to confront us)in danger!!

You should be more concerned with everyone's safety, not who's fault it was. I think it's time for some of these people who comment to grow up just a little bit.

okay. I am concerned about everyone's safety too. However, how would you like it if some idiot like that guy in that hummer do the same to you? Would you be scared too for your safety and for your life as well as your spouse and your kids lives?

The city has not done a very good job at clearing the roads. While I drove to work early Saturday morning you could tell 169 had not been touched all night. Then Saturday evening as it all refroze they should have anticipated it and have had the sand trucks out there.

If the officer would of slid another foot into the semi it could of been a really bad situation. Glad the officer is alright and I wish to thank this officer for being out yesterday trying to help people.

But Sarah, with the behavior of the FOP over this past month and the cops that come on here and post their rude/selfish remarks, it's understandable that some people would make the remarks they do.

It's only fair the cop gets a citation. They're out writing everyone else tickets for similar situation. I watched a TPD merging onto Hwy 169 and he/she was fishtailing all over the place. Had that been me, I would have been ticketed. They're all on a power trip....even more so with the "woe is me, I'm a cop and can never be laid off" crap.

Oh well I believe that the roads can be handle. But the drivers are crazy. What I saw on them dangerous highways with no lights was sad. And it reminded me of Texas Chain saw Massacre. Tulsa is not that broke they have to do there citizens like this. When I look at the highway I was shock black you couldn't see anything on the roads. That is very dangerous and Tulsa know they are the oil capital of the world. And they go out like this. What is really going on in the city of Tulsa? I believe the MOB have there ties on this one.

I understand that the roads were slick; and that there is going to be accidents and that is just what the are "accidents". If this had been any regular person, that person would have gotten a ticket for failure to maintain control. So did the officer get a ticket for failure to maintain control? Because from the sounds of the report it wasn't the truckers fault!! But we all know that won't happen, The police are above the law!! NOT!!

I agree, it is possible to slide while going slow, and i'm not trying to pick on the Tulsa police dept.. My thought is only if the officer driving the car that slid into the semi received a ticket or not. If it had been any regular person that person would have received a ticket!!

You guys should have ran over this jerk, I would have mashed him between my car and his gas guzzelin hummer and blamed it on the ice. So mr hummer giver in the black hummer you were lucky this time hope you meet me next time!

Hey Fed up the cops deserve all they have coming to them, they have never wanted to help the budget, they will continue drive their cars home out of the City limits, and they are the worst examples for driving I have ever seen. And no nothing will have to this cop, except maybe 3 or 4 points on his driving record. The car was a fairly new one.
