It's a sad state of affairs for the Republican party and for the Delaware county residents if the Brenner's are the "future of the Republican party". As citizens we don't really go beyond advertising signs and what's happened in near past elections when we elect local officials; we reserve any energy to the National elections. Just because we may think tha Pat Tiberi is good as our Representative, doesn't automatically mean that others in the same party are equally so.
Leaving the Brenners in Republican tickets would become a recipe for many thinking voters to vote against them (and for the Democratic opponents)
Blah Blah Blah. Face the facts! The Party leaders in Delaware, and Ohio along with the other elected officials, Congress man Pat Tiberi, Ohio Speaker of the House Batchelder and many more fully support the Brenners and all that they do. They are the winners in the Ohio GOP train wreck that was the so=called Romney Campaign in which Obama abd the Democrats wiped the floor with the Romney campaign and it's pathetic results. In the meantime Brenner, and Tiberi won AGAIN.. the Brenners are the present and the FUTURE of the GOP in OHIO.

You are avoiding the real issue at hand, they are negligent and it has been allowed. They should not have any say in the laws or ordinances that impact us.

Brenners are LAWMAKERS handpicked by Congressman Tiberi, The Delaware Republicans and the Ohio Republican party.

Negligent -- Schmegligent they are among the elite leadership of our state and that's the way it is baby!!!!

Brenners win. Brenners are endorsed and Supported by Congressman Tiberi and the GOP in Delaware and Ohio. What makes you think you know better than them and the vast majority of voters who elect the Brenners to the public offices they deserve every time they run in a primary or general election?

Romney - Grover Norquist's "poopyhead" and his collection of morons running the Romney campaign in Ohio should have done so well but, they, unlike the Brenners, COMPLETELY FAILED.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer because they cannot justify the Brenner's tax evasion. They are disgraceful. They cannot even fulfill their civic duty. Pathetic.

Tax Evasion my a**! There's a difference between not paying taxes and evading taxes. Just because a taxpayer is behind a little does not make them tax evaders. Perhaps there is a good reason that the Brenners didn't pay those taxes. Maybe the IRS is WRONG. Imagine that, Obama's IRS making a mistake and overcharging someone, Lord have mercy. There's two sides to every story and you don't know the real reasons that the Brenners are courageously fighting with the IRS.

Anyhow, the tax stuff is crap since the voters, the Ohio GOP, the Delaware Republican Party, Congressman Tiberi, Speaker Batchelder and the Ohio GOP all endorse and support and contribute cash to the Brenners campaigns for election and the Brenners WIN EVERY TIME. Republicans know that taxes are too high and only stupid people pay the full amount since there are so many ways to get out of paying the too high taxes Obama has on us.

Now you are defending a business owner and CEO that are capable of paying their due tax burden, but choose not to. You do not have a good argument for it. They have a lien on the business because they refuse to pay. They are tax evaders. Your appeal to popular sovereignty does not cover up their moral corruption. You have no real argument here, only fallacy.

Evasion? Probably not. However, the Brenner's chose not to pay. The newspaper articles reported on that. The Brenner's made a conscious decision to not pay their taxes, and that is a problem for an elected official. They both are in charge of making tax decisions for the rest of us, but they fail to pay them. They are hypocrites, and the government has put a lien on their business. They are a disgrace to the residents of this county--clearly.

It's worse than that actually. They are theives. The taxes they "chose" to not pay are taxes they withheld from the paychecks of employees. That's why they are called payroll taxes. So although Sara says above that the tax rate is too high and she won't honor it, she taxed her employees and then did not remit those taxes. No honor, no integrity.

All this tax evasion crap must not be all that bad because you never read about it in the papers during the election. And when looking at his margin of victory, I would say he could take on Senator Jordan and have a shot at beating him.

Since "careful now" seems so knowledgeable about taxes, I'd like to know specifically what Obama taxes are you paying. Did you realize that,if anything, some taxes have been reduced (we all pay 2% less in FICA taxes). We also still have the Bush tax cuts that expire at the end of the year.

In addition to being WINNERS in every election contest they are in, the Brenners are true patriots. The Brenners along with some of the other Republican officeholders in Delaware County are quietly leading by example in the revolt against unfair and onerous taxation brought about by the Democrat administration.

Not paying unfair and ridiculous taxes is a fine American tradition going back to yes, the Boston Tea Party, and the Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790's.

All the good Republicans in Delaware County support and VOTE FOR THE BRENNERS. Congressman Tiberi, Speaker Batchelder, The Delaware Republican Party and the Ohio Republican Party fully support, contribute to and endorse the Brenners. The Brenners know and are doing the right thing as true patriots in refusing to pay the taxes that the federal tax collectors say they owe. And, our loyal GOP leadership fully supports them in their rebellion.

Te Brenners and the other Republicans in public office who are refusing to give their hard-earned money to the federal tax collectors must be right since the federal tax collectors haven't done anything except file some silly papers that our Republican leaders proudly wave as recognition of their true patriotism and rebellion against onerous taxation.

If the IRS is wrong, then why do the Brenners keep paying their back taxes? SMB stated that it was all cleared up and the liens were being released, but that hasn't happened because they still owe money. Just wait and see what happens when "winner" SMB runs for city council again, assuming she does. She doesn't even go to the meetings!

Not paying your taxes IS tax evasion. And lots of things have to happen before the IRS puts a lien on your property. It came as no surprise to them that it happened.

Let's see if Andy "Drew" Brenner survives another election. The only reason all of those people support him is because he will do whatever they say. He is a puppet. She is a nobody.

Patriots?!
The Brenners promised their employees a certain amount of compensation from which money was to be withheld to pay their EMPLOYEES' taxes but instead was pocketed. You call that patriotic; I call it plain old lyin' and stealin'.

The workers who work for the Brenners are better off since the IRS doesn't connect the workers tax returns to their employers and if the workers filed a return the workers got full credit and any refunds that they were due. No harm no foul with the workers. And the IRS must not care since they aren't doing anything even after 4 years of Democrats enforcing the tax laws and with Democrats as the US Prosecuting Attorneys

Since these 'workers' are so-called teachers they probably got refunds as they are in the 47% group of low-earners anyway.

It's truly a win-win for America. The Brenners keep the conservative tax revolt alive and the lazy and indifferent Democrat administration refunds the money to the workers. It all means less money for Obama to waste paying for abortions, contraception for the immoral loose women and his war on coal.

Without making political judgements and just sticking to what the law says (and it's NOT Obama's tax laws), IF the Brenners withheld taxes from their employees and didn't deposit that to the IRS, they are plain and simply stealing. Regardless of whether it affected the employees' refunds. But we really don't know (at least, I don't) what the lien is for, so in a way, this discussion is becoming a waste of time. Maybe somebody in this string can direct all of us to the website where these judicial issues are posted. Then SOME of us will be able to make rational, educated judgements.
Others, unfortunately, will continue to spout the garbage they hear and repeat without much thought.
If not obeying the law (paying taxes) is patriotic, what comes next? What other laws can we break to become even more patriotic?

The lien involves payroll taxes -- those withheld from employees and not remitted to the government. You can see the documentation on the Delaware County Recorder's website -- it's all in the public domain. www.co.delaware.oh.us . Follow the links to the recorders site, sign in as a guest and do your research. They appear to be thieves. Funny, though, that they are hiding behind Tiberi. Sure gives him a black eye.

You dopes don't get it. The Brenners, Antonoplos and Yost are thge true freedom fighters against the creeping socialism and communism of the Democrats. Not paying the taxes the government claims you owe is a patriotic act of unheralded bravery and great risk.

The Democrat administration with its lazy and incompetent bureaucrats, attorneys and judges can't touch our fearless Republicans from Delaware County who thumb their noses at the tax collectors and get away with it because it's the thing to do to stop communistic growth of government who gives in to the takers of the 47% of irresponsible freeloaders in this country.

the Breners and the Antonoplos' and Yost should be praised for resisting the tax man and not becoming sheep like most people in this country who give in and pay up when the government tax man is wrong.

The IRS and the enforcers are wrong and thay know it that's why the Brenners and Antonoplos and Yost remain unpunished and free to not pay the tax man
