fiduciary responsibilty

From today's Gazette:

“Having a fiduciary responsibility to the citizens, we have to give it to the prosecutor and see where he takes it,” Sybert said.

Sounds good, except Sybert only means the alleged case against Guzzo.

He refused to send the case against his buddy and township fiscal officer Mark Gerber to the prosecutor. Here is an excerpt from the letter from prosecutor's office about Gerber's refusal to do his job, dated May 20, 2008:

"It is our position that the statute, related Attorney General Opinions and caselaw clearly indicate that it is the Fiscal Officer's duty to take and keep the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees.

If Mr. Gerber or his assistant are unwilling to take the minutes, then the only option at this point is to file a writ of mandamus action against him. This office would require a formal resolution from the Board prior to initiating the action."

Sybert voted not to release that document to the public. Too bad he lost 2-1, just like he claims Guzzo always does.

In the same article it states:

"Sybert told the Gazette that he voted to make Guzzo repay the legal fees out of principle, not politics. He said he decided to refer the matter to the prosecutor’s office to work out a resolution on the issue."

Mr. Sybert, where are your principles when it comes to Mark Gerber? Tell us again how this is not political. We need a good laugh!

The reality here is that the two men on this board are trying to act like big time politicians. Bathed in self-importance and full of grandstanding bravado, they block every bit of common sense Guzzo brings to the board. The township deserves better. So does the county. If these three can't work together they should be recalled. They are becoming an embarassment.

Sybert does not want to get lower pricing for trash pick up for the residents because his buddies at Flower Garbage can't compete. He boo hoos that it will put them out of business if the township contracts with a single trash hauler. So what! It is not Sybert's job to keep Flower garbage in business. If they can't compete, they're out. Sybert is supposed to be on the side of taxpayers. If the township can contract for lower trash pick up costs for the residents then they should. Every dollar counts in this economy. And it's not about freedom of choice like Sybert says. No one really cares who picks up their garbage as long as they do it.

Where is your "fiduciary responsibility to the citizens" on this one?

Sounds like Sybert is taking a page out of Obama's playbook. Screw the people who pay taxes, bail out businesses that can't survive and blame everyone else for the problems you helped create but cannot solve. Then protect your buddies at any cost while expecting everyone else to fall in line.

Is Sybert a Democrat? Right there in Liberty Township?

New owner of Flower Garbage - convicted by the feds for paying off public officials in Gary Indiana and the company they worked for then was also convicted of criminal activity - it went bankrupt. Fidoosh Sybert - a public official loves these guys; I wonder why?

It shows. But it actually shows more about you than it does about her. She doesn't miss meetings to go to horse shows like you do. She only missed one meeting after her surgery for breast cancer. She is a survivor and you are a tool.

2000 — Present (9 years)

Our family shows quarter horses at SOQHA, OQHA and AQHA sponsored events. My daughter, kelsey is a 5 time Quarter Horse Congress Finalist and 3 time Top Ten finisher. She was the 2008 SOQHA All Around Novice Youth Hi Point Res. Champion. We currently owns two show horses, Stormin Banjoe (Vera) and HottLippsHoulihan (Magaret). Our sponsors include Scherner &Sybert, SyberMed Enterprises, LLC, Ortho Neuro and SyberSpine.

Sybert also lists himself as general counsel for SyberMed. The same Sybermed he tried to get the Liberty township fire dept to use for supplies. Guzzo called him out on it a while ago and he screamed at her in public session for mentioning it. Sybert has a long history of hating Guzzo especially when she points out what an idiot he is.

Hey Democrat, "screw the people who pay taxes"???

Last I checked most people got a very small federal tax cut. No increases. And you also forget that some, if not most, republicans also support bailing out the companies that became too big to fail.

If you think letting a company like Citigroup fail would just be like letting some shop in the corner fail you're not living in reality. It would throw a wrench into our entire financial system.

Having said that, I do think that if federal dollars are to be handed out, they should hlep people not companies. Companies are inanimate things without feelings that pay executives way too much money for doing a crappy job. That money could be better spent actually helping homeowners not the companies issuing the mortgages.

But then again I'm sure that we would have been better off with Palin in the VP office pushing for abstinence-only sex education, getting demons expelled in church, and easing relations with the "country" of Africa.

as the assistant fiscal officer who does not take the meeting minutes, just like her boss Mark Gerber.
Trustee Bob Mann defends M not taking the minutes because she makes too much money per hour stating that M makes $26.50 per hour and the person they hired to take the minutes is paid $15.00 per hour. Since Gerber had NO intentions of actually doing his job, it would have made more sense for them to pay M less and just make her do all the stuff Gerber won't do. The former fiscal officer took the minutes herself and had no assistants. Gerber costs the taxpayers his salary plus the hourly wages of two assistants. It would make more sense if Gerber just showed up and did his job but he and M are protected by Mann and Sybert.
Mann even stated that Gerber is only required by law to attend one meeting per quarter. Mann defends Gerber not showing up?
Mann takes the "trust" right out of "trustee".

Speaking of Sybert's fudiciary responsibility, when Trustee Guzzo suggested that Liberty Township do what Powell does, contract legal assistance at a monthly rate which would save the township tens of thousands of dollars, he said they couldn't do that to Craig Paynter because he had worked for the township for 20 plus years.. in other words, it doesn't matter how much money money we are wasting on legal fees, we are going to keep on doing it so that Craig paynter can have all of our taxpayers' dollars.
Liberty Township is in the business of attorney welfare.

Why is it that when trustee Guzzo wants to use the Delaware County Prosecutor for legal assistance, Curt Sybert says that the prosecutor's office is too busy for township business, but when he wants to sue peggy Guzzo for legal fees that he insisted on accrueing, he sends the case to the same county prosecutor who he said was too busy for township business.

How can Garth Bishop, a supposed journalist, get the facts totally backwards. Is he painfully biased or just stupid?
