Eluveitie, Keep that liberal thought going. Perhaps you will wake up one day in your apartment that you share with all your other socialist that drink from the kool aide pitcher of the liberals.
Just because a party disagrees doesn't make them bad. Just because a party wants to return to America its greatness and pride doesn't make them bad. What's bad is the divisions people like yourself are causing in this country.
All hail Obama. Ziek Heil.
What's funny is your assumptions about me. I never voted for a Democrat for president (or Green or Socialist). Now what is funny is your lack of knowledge when it comes to your, well I guess you were trying to be clever, "Ziek Heil". First Hitler was a Fascist where Obama is a Socialist so a Sieg Heil is not really appropriate.
The divisions coming in this country come from both sides, the ultra liberal and conservatives. The Tea Party is about as obstructionist as they come. Plain and simple. Both parties only care about the lobbyists who line their pockets.
As a small business owner I hate what I see in our government, but being so close minded or stubborn (as both sides were) that I would try and destroy our economy to make a point is completely unAmerican and reckless.

Well said, actually. Yes my reference was correct. I believe that extreme liberalism eventually leads to fascism. We are headed that way with the direction this country is moving. Only it will be controlled by many politicians and uber-wealthy pigs. We will have no say in our government eventually. Especially if voter turnout continues in the direction it is going. Keep up the fight. Stay American.

Slim, Ultra-"anything" is bad. Period. What I learned about Socialism and Fascism is that the extreme end is liberalism is Communism and the extreme end of conservatism is Fascist. Maybe Stalin didn't have a cool chant when he spoke. So, in the spirit of fair play, go for it, use Sig Heil! LOL.

Either way, as Americans we really need to start learning how things in our government are actually run and vote appropriately. We also need to learn that "compromise" is not a dirty term. Heck, look and us, we could have just started calling each other names but you stated your views, I did mine and we at least now understand a little bit more about the other. Take care.

Slim is correct. The term "political spectrum" was taught to most of us in school. This term is fairly easy for schoolchildren to soak up, but it's not at all representative of reality. Because extremist liberalism and fascism have so much in common, the "political spectrum "should be illustrated and subsequently taught to children as being a loop. However, Houston, there's a problem. Such a realistic political concept may have a certain amount of difficulty finding its way into America's predominately liberal-oriented public school textbooks.

Well, that is completely devoid of substance. You should at least try to be clever with your insults, if that is all you have.

Public service unions have no place in today's society. Our military in not unionized nor should our first responders. The thuggery practiced by union bosses does nothing for the public good. Unfortunately the thuggery transcends some of the membership which smiles and does their job during the day, but behind the scenes holds a grudge and uses the union to protect their jobs even in instances of misconduct which would result in them being fired in the private sector. Unions prevent the firing of dead wood and those guilty of offenses like brandishing a City firearm (Columbus) during a road rage incident, sexual harassment in the workplace(Orange Township), sexual trysts at the station with a partner not the wife(Columbus), wrestled a 60 year old to the ground ( happened in Fort Worth where the poor man was merely helping to divert traffic around his place of business), etc etc the list goes on with dirty cops . With certain individuals the uniform goes to their heads especially when they know the union will save their jobs in the case of most misconduct instances..

PS in all of the above examples the FF are still on the job.

And there have never been violation of workplace rules in the military or non-union public sector? There has never been a cover up of poor performance or negligence in the private sector?

Wow Tempe the Troll, where does your hatred of the public sector unions come from? A union man steal your wife? Or are you a former member of a public sector union and your performace was so poor the union couldn't protect you and you were fired?

Most likely they never got the job and now redirect their self loathing onto those who rightfully didn't hire them.
