The deputies should have called their supervisors if they didn't know what to do. But they already knew what they were supposed to do and they are lazy and didn't want to mees with it right before their shift was over. A man DIED beacuse of their laziness. Martin said himself that the deputies should have arrested the guy. His blood alcohol was three times the leagl limit when they did the autopsy. There is no way those deputies didn't know the guy was drunk. Plus they made fun of him which in any circumstance is totally unprofessional and inapproriate. At least the two deputies got fired but only after 7 months of paid leave. If there was any justice for that man's death the deputies should have been tried for manslaughter and gone to jail and we would get our money back for all of the salary they got paid for sitting at home doing nothing. How embarrasing for the DCSO.Are you all morons? Russ Martin isn't the deputy who used poor judgement and dropped the man off at Taco Bell. Do deputies at the DCSO call and ask the sheriff before they make their decisions? Seems to me the supervisors on the road with the deputies carry more of the responsibility. Why don't you bellyachers go do your job and quit whinning on topix? Makes your whole department look assinine.

in 2012 was Spencer hired? Before you say how inept Russ Martin is, find out if he was hired by former Sheriff Magnum. This sounds more like his hiring than Martin's. Remember the perverted jail administrator, Smith, he hired a few years back?

So here we are. DCSO is running well. Yep there have been some problems (Taco Bell and an escape) but if anyone can say that DCSO, as a whole, is not a good organization, they're a liar.
Funny how all those whiners have disappeared from this forum...who was the idiot that said he would never move back to Delaware because of Martin? I guess that is even more proof the Sheriff is doing a good job. |

Russ Martin has been and is doing a wonderful job. Of course anything is probably better than what the former Sheriff Davis did who is now in a wonderful job as a flight attendant.
