People, its the same thing every week. They hook up a bunch of gadgets that do nothing, record a lot of shadows & tell the person, "you either may or may not have a ghost". Why is that so entertaining?

And SciFi Channel renews yet another bad show nobody watches... Isn't it amazing how GE allows them to waste all that money?

General Electric's new slogan..."The lights are on, but nobody's home."

I like Ghost Hunters just fine, but it would be nice if they could invest in a little better technical stuff, now that they're famous and all. You'd think after four seasons that folks would have donated better items for their hunts. It's like going fishing in a cave with a handful of candles half the time.

If they caught hard core evidence every episode, then you know something is fishy...

If maybe they turn out 2 or 3 good pieces a season, then you can be more comfortable in accepting their credibility...

Does that make sense? I think it does...

Ghost Hunters is one of Sci-Fi's highest rated shows, so obviously many people watch it. Ever notice how those that say "nobody watches it" are by people who don't no anyone personally that watches it? And of course since they know the entire world, that must mean nobody at all watches it. Give me a break. And yes, William, I completely agree with you.

Actually, there isn't any show on SciFi that "many people" watch.

SciFi is mired in endless low-rated shows.

That its scripted shows are doing no better than Ghost Hunters is a tribute to how bad those scripted shows are IMO.

"Many people" is a relative statement... Maybe not many people compared to Law & Order SVU, but if you counted everyone who watched Ghost Hunters every Wednesday, I'm sure they could fill up a small state like Delaware...

That's millions...

I doubt they get an "s" after the million. ;)

I could be wrong, given how hard it is to get cable ratings for shows that don't make the Top 15.

According to Nielsen, Ghost Hunters is the Top Rated cable show only behind (WTF?!?!) Drama Island on Cartoon Network on the week ending Nov 8. Never heard of Drama Island.

Anyway, GH is on reruns, so recent charts won't help, but as a comparison, last week GHI was a new episode and got 2.378m viewers. GH usually does better during the new episodes.

P.S. I live in South Jersey, been to the "City Of Hills" aka Wilmington, DE plenty of times - I know what you mean, hah!

Thanks for the info.

For your reference, Burn Notice premiere to 5 million viewers, which is also what Monk usually gets for its weekly episodes. NCIS re-runs get over 3 million viewers on USA and The Closer is the highest rated regular show on cable with anywhere between 7 and 10 million viewers.

It does look like Ghost Hunters beats Battlestar Galactica pretty handily,:) although I think this is a reflection on Ron Moore and David Eick's work personally. ;)

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Capricorn

Mercury retrograde in your sign will cause some friction between you and other people during coming weeks. Matters that have been bubbling away in the background will come to the boil, forcing you to do something about them. Try not to overreact, nor to create a crisis out of something that's really very minor. You should also keep a strong sense of fair play and pay attention to every little detail.
