In researching my genealogy on Jear George Racine states he owned a farm in the Porters, Del area. He was struck by a train that crossed his property in 1889. He died from the accident. I currently live in Florida but lived in Marshallton all my life. I have a friend that lives just off of Porter road and I remember an abandon railroad line that runs nearby.
Could anyone direct me to a source to get a map showing the existance of the railroad line in 1889 (at least between Newark and Delaware City) AT 74 I am not very good at computer on the internet, however I have a email address: weracine@embarqmail.com Thank you and GO BLUE HENS!! |
