The Lord's Resistance Army is not ancient history, nor was the holocaust. Adolf Hitler justified genocide as God's work.
And we KNOW that he was defined more by his mental illness than by any bogus claim, label, or what have you, to be a Christian. I cannont identify Hitler as any kind of Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddist, etc. etc., ad nauseum..the man was dead in spirit years befoe he died in the body.

Yes! Let's not get distracted with our other thoughts on religion, etc.(talking to myself, especially here). It can happen to any of us..life is like that.

I've heard these recent storms being called a derecho— also known as a “land hurricane”.

Frankly, I can't see a whole lot of difference, as far as damage is concerned, between a Tornado & a Hurricane. One forms on Land & the Other forms on the Ocean. But aside from that, they're pretty much the same , as far as I can tell.

You don't have the water damage from a 12 foot (or more) storm surge in a tornado.

Well No, because if you take a direct hit, there's no building left to be damaged by water. If you take an indirect hit, the rain will cause plenty of water damage, because your Roof will be gone.

There's no way to win against Mother Nature...that's why Tornadoes & Hurricanes, both, are so scary! You're entirely at her mercy!

....then just consider this a continuation! We live about 25 miles S/E of Memphis and the recent wind/rain storm that came through took down the biggest (and dead) pine tree and it landed in the Maple tree across our drive way. Luckily, the Maple saved unknown damage to our house and cars. Of course I knew that the tree was dead but it was also the home of every species of woodpeckers and their cousins in this territory, so,...I decided to leave it stand. Oops, wrong decision! But a younger neighbor buddy and his friend came with a tractor, pulled it down, cut it into several pieces and pulled them 1/4 mile down the road to their place. Knowing them, they'll get 'em several cases of beer and burn it when weather cools....if they wait that long! I've raked the whole drive and around the brave Maple, now you can't tell of any damage at all. Moral of the story....?....don't keep dead trees unless you have a Maple and beer-loving friends!!!
