Robbery is illegal, and they should be caught and punished. It's every citizens job to prevent this type of crime.

With that said, this is not an imigration or racism issue. I suspect Mr Horn would have done this regardless of race.

Mr. Horn's actions were reckless. He could have inadvertently shot a office, or an officer could have shot him.

Mr. Horn had choices. He could have photographed and taken video of the crime and given it to the police. He could have stayed in the house. He could have taken the good advice of the operator. Instead he was dead set on taking 2 lives for what probably amounted to a few 1,000 dollars of merchandise.

Ironically Mr. Horn didn't even know his neighbors - that in itself is not be a crime, but it should be.

But lets cut to the chase -- killing 2 unarmed men may be legal, but it's not Christian.

Once there was a bipartisan consensus behind free trade, but that's not true anymore, either...Once upon a time, the fact that hundreds of millions of people around the world are rising out of poverty would have been a source of pride and optimism. But if you listen to the presidential candidates, improvements in the developing world are menacing. Their speeches constitute a symphony of woe about lead-painted toys, manipulated currencies and stolen jobs.

And if Dobbsianism is winning when times are good, you can imagine how attractive it's going to seem if we enter [a] serious recession ... the political climate could shift in ugly ways.
