The problem is Emmer himself, not his consultants or staff. Mr.Emmer is a deeply flawed candidate who exhibits no instinct for decision making or governance. He has almost no comprehension of policy issues or what the State of Minnesota is tasked with doing on behalf of its citizens. Moreover, he appears to be a candidate without any compassion for people outside of his immediate circle and seems unable to grasp of how most people in our state live their lives.

It's too bad that Emmer feels a need to conform while on the campaign trail. Conformity to what is "expected" from a candidate is making him confused.

The Democrats cannot run on their record of past achievement, especially given the dreadful reality we are experiencing now as a result of liberal economic and social policies. Because of this, they will be sure to be on the warpath attacking Emmer this Fall.

I have been very unimpressed with Emmer and his campaign. Is this all you can come up with GOP? In comparison, the DFL candidates are a disaster too, fighting like, well, liberals.

Emmer is an idiot any way you measure it. his mission is to dump on everybody except the certified 368 millionnaires in the state. his message and votes confirm it. he represents what is wrong with america and should get no votes, even in the primary.

Mr Emmers is soft on drunk drivers, that should be enough to not vote for him. He wants to lower the already soft penalties, for drunken killing.

Norm has been vetted, Emmer not so much.

Norm has goals at the federal level.

This article is laughable. Pioneer Press, please give up the the effort to distort and mitigate the candidacy of Tom Emmer. The three Progressive Liberal Democrats he faces, Entenza, Dayton and Kelliher-Anderson are going to destroy our State should they be elected with Obama-like spending and taxation. Please, PP, be honest and publish the truth for once in this campaign.

Please vote for THOMAS EMMER in November that is if you desire:
1-More Jobs.
2-Less Taxes.
3-More freedoms.
4-A better Economy

MN just isn't that conservative. If the GOP hadn't driven out all of the more moderate members of their party, they'd win in a landslide.

If the Dems can run Dayton, then Emmer is eminently qualified. The only people really whining about Emmer are all the gay marriage freak groups, and the press is one of them.
No one is going to build up Dayton, he's never done anything. It's going to be all bashing Emmer for being anti homosexual marriage.
That's what this whole campaign is going to hinge on...if you want homosexual marriage in MN, vote Dayton or whatever Homocrat gets the nod, who will then install homosexual judges on the bench.
If not, vote Emmer.
The margin will have to be large though; as we've seen, the Homocrat-party will cheat and re-count and sue until they "win".

Nobody wants a double drunk driver like Angry Emmer to be their governor. Nobody wants some jerk who sues people at the dro of a hat and throws his legalk license around like a license to abuse people to be their governor. Nobody wants some Teabagger who will run the great state of Minnesota right into the toilet with his cave-man approach to government to be their governor. I other words, NOBODY WANTS ANGRY TOM EMMER TO BE THEIR GOVERNOR.

If the GOP was full of tax-raising pro-homosexual marriage liberals, why would they win anything? And why would they deserve to? There's already a party like that. The voters deserve at least a choice in ideology, not that their votes will be counted if they vote the "wrong" way.

If my nephew Teabagger Tommy hadn't tied me up and locked me up in a closet until after the campaign, I would be running his abysmal sinking ship of a campaign. But there wasn't enough room on his sinking ship for all my baggage, so off the gangplank I went. He really is one Angry Emmer.

A former twice convicted DWI drunk helping other drunks?

I didn't know that about the man until the commercials
started running about his record and now I'm appalled!

It is just like a rapist running for office just to make
raping folks legal!

Tom Emmers is all about himself and his lifestyle not about
the people........

Tommy needs to hire a real campaign manager with proven skill. He does not need what he currently has been saddled with.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Pisces

Things are not always what they seem today, so be careful. Someone might appear to be completely honest but turn out later to have been fooling you in some way. Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface. So be wary about who and what you believe, and don't let anyone push you into making important decisions today because they may not be in your best interests.
