More questions than answers Friday evening about the murder of a Delano man. He was shot in his own home, but no one is saying the reason why.

The Delano Police Department is not talking about this murder. In fact, the police are telling the Espinoza family not to talk about the murder either.

So we went to Delano to investigate. We found discarded police tape, a broken door jam and blood stains are the only signs of the crime that was committed at 419 High Street in Delano.

Just after 5 a.m. on Thursday morning, 56 year old Ralph Espinoza was shot at this home. He managed to call 911 and was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died from his injuries and a single gunshot wound to his torso.

Eyewitness News went to Espinoza's home where the front door appears to have been forcibly opened and his auto repair business, Ralph's Machine Shop, just a few blocks down the street from where he lived.

Neighbors all knew Espinoza and that he was murdered but no one could give us any information about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Delano Police Department is also remaining tight-lipped and are not releasing any information regarding the murder for fear of jeopardizing the case.

We also spoke to Espinoza's daughter who would not go on camera and has been instructed by the Delano Police Department not to talk to the media. She did tell us that her father was acting strangely the week before he died and closed his shop early in the week to go to the casinos in Lemoore.

Ralph Espinoza is survived by his Mother and Father, three sisters, six children and ten grandchildren. The family was recently told by the Delano Police Department that Espinoza's death was not gang related.

We will keep you updated as new information becomes available. delano man killed by fastrip

sad.. iv lived in this neiborhood less than a block away for 23 years.. this neighborhood has really gone down hill.. it got better when they closed down the delano motel but now thats its open again, the crime comes with it.. i heard ralph was a really good guy he reached out to the community and helped those willing to help themselfs. it a shame how the old school people in this neiborhood who are established law abiding citizens are the once who suffer. remember a few years back at the delano motel the manager was beaten and left for dead.. i dont think they ever solved that case either.. its another, no one saw nothing, but everyone knows something kinda thing. how are we as a community supposed to protect the innocent and elderly if no one will speak to authorities out of fear and or retaliation. i grew up on this block and iv seen alot of things over looked by law inforcement.. out of pure laziness and lack of concern for our neiborhood, and the people in it..
