Pooh. They shouldn't even BE there in the first place. All we did was stir up a hornet's nest and cause the hornets to fly elsewhere and establish their 'nests'.

The way I see it, the only reason we are there at all is because of a pretty little red flower that people abuse for drugs.(poppy/opium)

I hope EVERY SINGLE DRUGGEE WHO USES IT comes to the realization that he/she is costing another innocent person or two's life.

Oh, and I can't understand WHY when our military puts violent terrorists into a prison, WHY we have to 'give them a fair trial'. Half the time they get loose anyway.

Why are they even IN those prisons if some soldiers didn't think they belonged there? They should have a MILITARY trial; not U.S. civilian.

It is a good thing they are not fighting a WAR.......oh wait they are. "Selective targets" and "fire on my command" and "fire at will" have been a problem for years. This is a war and in every war in history there are civilian casualties. It is a sad fact but one that can not be avoided."They tied our hands in Nam and are doing the very same thing in the middle East. We should let the military do their job and keep politics out it. These servicemen & women are putting their lives on the line. And to be controlled like this is terrible. The big boys making the decisions should have to do a tour on the front line. THEN they may see things alittle differently. "Semper Fi" God Bless Our Military

Our US troops are losing the war in Afghanistan to barbaric and murderous Taliban Islamic terrorists because their top command prevent them from winning the war against Islamic terrorists that enjoy ‘safe heaven’ by US top command.
Our brave US troops were sent to a mission that they will never win regardless how great they are…because the Commander in Chief the Muslin born Barack Obama ordered McChrystal to give priority for protecting the lives of the Taliban that are dressed as women with black Burka all over their body…Yesterday the British pilot of Harrier that was called by US Marine to support them refused to shot the Taliban stronghold when he saw one black Burka dress because he could go to prison if he kills civilian. While US troops cannot shoot before being attacked by the Burka dressed Taliban Islamic terrorists, the Taliban are using propelled grenade and mortar attacks on our US troops who are allowed to die but cannot shoot back before consulting with Obama’s ACLU lawyers. Were our US troops sent to die in Afghanistan with their hands tied behind their backs by the Islamic loser in chief Obama who seek their defeat and the victory of Islam and his Islamic terrorist ‘buddies’ over the American occupier?

yeah, it's not fair. we should be able to go to any country and shoot anybody; man, woman or child. but the damn liberals just hate if when we go all over the world destroying lives and countries and destroying the lives of our soldiers as they eventually have to face that they have been used as murderers, not defenders of our nation.

Dear "Jarhead", thanks for your service to the country, can't say that enough. My man was in the military for 20 years and spent time in Iraq.

Forgive me, but both he and I, as we get older, realize one thing: we have all been duped, my friend. The military is and always HAS been a pawn of the government.

I have noticed a common thing. I know the media is in the business of reporting, and reporting world events. But it seems everytime some country starts having some problems, the media holds up the crying women and children, OUR country gets upset and calls on their representatives to go to war to "fix" the problem. The government tells the troops to get in there and fight and that they are "fighting for America, for freedom, for democracy". And while friends, neighbors and family love us, understand our intentions, and support us; the rest of the country treats it's soldiers like "warmongers". Soon we've been there a few years and nobody but our families miss us or even think of us. That seems to be the cycle.

Well it doesn't take an Einstein to realize that some of THESE country's problems have NOTHING whatsoever to do with us. They LIED to us. Call me paranoid, but I'm thinking this: they take our best and brightest people, appeal to their higher natures and send THEM out of country long enough to allow politicains to rule over lazier people who elect them while our brightest are out of country and can't directly see what's going on here. And so we have the MESS our country is in today.

After so may years, I think we need to REALIZE that we CAN'T fix everybody's problems for them. Heck, we can't even fix our own. Now we have invaders from other countries coming here to our own country, and they can't seem to do a thing about it. In fact, we as ignorant Americans ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET for them, thinking that we are so pure and innocent, that we can change their minds and they'll suddenly become good, law abiding citizens. No.

No. We don't belong in Afghanistan, Iraq, or anywhere ELSE they don't want us.

My thought is this: how would WE like it if we had trouble in our nation so bad that other nations would think it's o.k. to invade US to help us solve our problems? Different now, right? Just thoughts.

YOU are one of the ones I was talking of in my post. You have NO CLUE what is going on. Perhaps that is because you are so far from Washington, D.C. proper.

I've lived in this Godforsaken area from some 12 years and am DISGUSTED at what I see here. Your answer shows that except for the exceptional news reports you hear about soldier nutcases, you have NO CLUE what the military actually does.

MOST of those joining the military don't give a you know what about killing people. They join for 2 main reasons: to offer service to their country, and for he educational benefit that they otherwise could not afford to further their lives in this country. And believe me, they works their HINEYS off for every penny of it. It's not free. You basically sacrifice some years of your life with little or NO say in the matter for this promised benefit.

As for retired military, if they are not sufficiently demoralized and sickened by what we now call post traumatic stress disorder, they are some of THE most law abiding, hard working and helpful people ever. They KNOW the value of life because they've seen it capriciously taken away. When they train on weapons, it's merely to keep trained; they have NO intention of EVER wanting to kill anyone. They KNOW what REAL combat is like and if at all possible, they want NO part of it. But if the TRUE call of liberty ever comes to them; they'll be ready.

Do us all a favor and get a clue. Open your eyes some more and cease reguritating the old 60's crap. This is the 21st century;not the 20th.
