Unions are not the answer. It is an excuse for lazy people to try and demand more money for doing a crappy job. Unions are done! That's why no one wants to hire people on America.

unions are not for lazy people, if their working they obviously are not lazy, and if they care to fight in what they believe in then that shows initiative and also shows that they are not lazy. if you dont know dont talk, at least their doing something to try and get what they want and deserve, not like other people that just talk shit and never do anything about it or people who are too scared to even stand up to their bosses at work.

I have lived in del rio for 20 years and have seen many changes in the area , let me say I am very proud of the workers who are picketing today in front of the jail , I would like to think the police officers union and if the county officers have a union that they too would come out and support you out there , I hope to join you all out there today or tomorrow if Time permits , I have been where u guys are and I know it's tuff to be out there, many have families and kids but remember that they are the main reason we do what we do for a living and that when companies take advantage of your hard work they are messing with your family too you must do what it takes to get a good contract even if it means a strike or a wildcat strike good luck and god bless

If you like what you do , but you know it could be better , why would you leave your job ? Do you think cops have to put up with low pay or leave the job , what if your mailman loved his job but the pay was low what if the ups guy loved his job but it was low pay , or if a teacher loved the job but it was low pay, if the sanitation worker liked his job but low pay , no they would stick together and fight for fair pay and benifits like they have in the past , so too are the correctional officers at geo god bless you and your fight , and don't listen to those who cannot see your vision of a better job , fight today for a better tomorrow

Yeah because a mailman making 50 bucks an hour makes a lot of sense??? And you wonder why the USPS is about to go belly up because it keeps losing money every year.

Unions are proving to be ineffective. That crap worked in the 50's and 60's. Not anymore. Look at all industries that have large longstanding unions... Auto, mail, manufacturing... They all struggle in the US. And the DRPD union = comical! Maybe they should fight off the belly fat harder and less fighting for better wages.

The mailman thing is not about pay it's about how emails and Internet caught up with the us mail but you probably think we should all earn minimum wage joe Romney and not draw a pension
