LOVE IT!! :), I'm going out tomorrow to see if I can find any of the series! There's a "new" used bookstore in town, and they seem to have a LOT of interesting stuff. Of course, I'm going to have to reread the series now!! lol

Personally, I've always thought that Rowling painted herself into a corner and really had no idea how to end her series. She was good at constructing plot-lines that complimented the characters in the first four, but when the plot-line started to lag, so did interest level of the characters---just my opinion. She also might not have cared too much after awhile when she realized she was possibly the richest person in the U.K., and, by then, was just fulfilling her contractual obligations by writing seven books.

I think you are more correct than I, John. How are you, my friend? Haven't 'seen' you in a while. Miss ya' man! This is my favorite thread on Topix so far, and I always look forward to your posts here.

This is my favorite thread on Topix so far, and I always look forward to your posts here. Good evening my friend! Thank you, you are very kind! I must confess to "rationing" my time at Topix lately--I've been neglecting my other responsibilities in favor of it the past couple of months--namely reading and, most especially, writing. So, I've decided to only visit a couple of threads, and not to spend much time "bouncing around" as it were. Yes, I'll agree that this has become one of my preferred threads--especially for unwinding at the end of the day--it's rather "soothing" so-to-speak. I'm taking a break from the "Is There A Middle..." thread for awhile; that one's going nowhere, and I'm not really all that interested in "blasting-idiots" however therapeutic it might be. One of the reasons I've thought that Rowling painted herself into a corner is because I fear I've done that myself with one of my current projects; the end is almost already dictated which forces the series of events leading up to it to follow a pre-destined path. This is something that I think can hamper good story-telling. It's the job of the author to make the journey from start to finish as interesting and enjoyable as possible, and that's something I find myself wrestling with at the moment.

I have every confidence that you will win this wrestling match, dear. Good luck with your project. And the Sarah Palin coloring book is sure to be an instant classic. I must close for now, and hit the sack, as it were. Goodnight and sweet dreams.

Good Evening, friends. Want to hear the bonehead move of the week? Bought a book of O. Henry short stories on line, and when it arrived it was an anthology of those short stories having won the O. Henry Award. Not that they aren't (so far) excellent stories, but I really thought they would all be by O. Henry. Guess I better get more sleep. Love to all.

She is coming back, but she has a lot of shyte in her life at the moment. I am speaking for her, and I have no right to do so, but this is the vibe I get. She will reply to this post or yours, but not immediately.

I'd like to talk, just about stuff, not the forum nonsense. I'm sure you have my email, and if you dont, just ask. I'll contact Nana in the morning and ask her to come to this forum to talk to you. Is that okay? But yea, you're generally right. I had the same thing happen years ago on the Schiavo forum, started one way, and ended up the other side as I really stopped arguing and started listening to waht people were saying. Dont let the fools get you down. That's what they want. You leave, an they think they've won something, and that would be a shame and a loss.

To the person who judged my post concerning my "How we met," story to be 'nuts', I have to say I agree. I am still nuts about this man after 4 years, and I give him my confidence. This is more than I can say for any previous relationship after 4 years. The thing is, I was married for 10, and a mother of two sons by my 25th birthday. I wouldn't trade my experience for anyone's: it's MINE. My sons are graduates with a strong sense of civic responsibility, who none the less think for themselves. They start no trouble, and finish whatever they start. I am proud to be the parent of such men. But I could have had children with anyone, and my choice still makes me wonder 'why?'.For this reason, if for no other, I support choice: What's the point, if one doesn't wonder?

Actually, the only one I know of who changed from PL to PC is Ladidio, aka lalalulu, aka LA. She is an unwilling guru, and a very Wise Woman. I love her.
