Several lessons to be learned here, such as:
Not all policemen are your friends & are there to protect you. I love to see a bad cop get thrown in prison.
Skip the rest of the lessons, I feel a suitable punishment for this piece of toilet fungus is to exhume Maria's remains one more time and force her killer to be strapped next to her, facing his victim in an isolated room until he eventually either loses his mind or dies of heart attack, hunger (give him just enough water to keep him alive so that he has days and days to be with the little girl he killed & think about his crime)
