The 28 year old OKC plant was idled 19 months ago. Now that 2,000 employees retired, pre-retired or transferred, OKC has less than 300 workers left. Making OKC the logical place to hire a majority of new hires under the proposed two tier wage scale. GM could save millions in labor costs at OKC. GM spent $700 million on the OKC in 2002 to build midsize SUV's, building a new paint shop. The state of Oklahoma has offered $200 million to retool the plant, in addition to $143 million in annual concessions from the local union. Oklahoma's workforce is top notch, making the cost of doing business very low.

Wake up they dont give a shit about your community, its about cheap, cheap labor. Why spend all that money when they can go to mexico & have them produce those same cars\trucks for dollars a day? Thats why i buy toyota, ive heard all your bullshit about buying american, but when toyota & honda are building plants in america & hiring americans i think that counts more than someone moving outside the country & bringing them back in & saying buy american.Im not a stock owner so i dont have to buy this line of shit or your product!!!!!

Foreign makers build vehicles here because labor is cheaper in the U.S. But, with the fluctuation of the yen, Japan is back to exporting more here. You can help support all those laid off autoworkers, higher taxes will be needed to pay for unemployment and the lost taxes they no longer pay to Uncle Sam. Buying imported stuff has a high price tag. Maybe we can import our military equipment from all these thriving Asian countries.

They should close down the Windsor Transmission Plant, as they should give the American brothers jobs which Windsor Kanada should not have!
