An unfortunate accident I am sure. Seems that his life may have been ended prematurely...perhaps? Sympathy and prayers for wife and children. I do not understand hosting a 'benefit' to beg for money just because he died....death is the only guarantee we all have in life. Even Mark's brother Todd and sister in law, Peggy are accepting $ for their expenses r/t his brother's death? What for gas to go to funeral maybe? Funerals are not necessary, etc. Same family begged for money when their mother was ill with cancer that she was too irresponsible to pay for health insurance, while her son is completely against government insurance "ObamaCare". Guess it isn't needed since the begging/benefit thing is there method of taking responsibility for themselves.

Dear Cetay, Please be cautious what you say. You do not understand the circumstances truly it seems. And death is certainly not the only guarantee we have in life. For those who truly know a follow Jesus there is a much greater guarantee that no amount of cynicism or doubt can alter. Mark was a very close friend of mine, and his mother too. There was never any begging. And people have no obligation to give. Those who gave gave willingly as they understood what was going on. This is not the sort of news one is meant to use to fling out their personal issues with someone or broadcast political views. This is a real family, that has experienced real loss. Im sure you have family as well. Before throwing out judgment perhaps consider compassion. You could say all you want that you or your family would never do things as they did. Fine. But that actually you don't know for you have not lived THEIR life. PLease be respectful and seek gentleness. It will do your own heart good for it is rare to hear such sarcasm and bitterness thrown in the direction of a mourning family. Somethings wrong dear Cetay. I also will pray for you. May your heart be made soft.

Dear Cetay, The values of the secular world are very different than the values of the Christian Community. When people become missionaries, they are taught to rely on God's provision as they are sent out to spread the Gospel. God does a lot of providing by using His people, the Christ Followers. When there is a need, the Christian community rallies around and supports the one in need. When they give, God, in turn, blesses them and they are filled with a "peace that passes understanding." No one is obligated to give, but it is out of a heart that follows after Him that people give. Missionaries are taught to "let their needs be known."
