How right you are about this place being the BIGGEST Joke place in town. Are the people here actually real Doctors that went to real medical schools? My husband went there yesterday and has been in excruciating pain since a fall at work on Tuesday. Thursday night it took me 3 1/2 hours to get out of bed because of the fall he took at work where he has a bruise about 7 inches around on his back where he hit what he fell on.I have had to also stay awake since Tuesday night to help him in and out of bed because of the major pain he is in. Finally Friday morning I told him you have to go to a Doctor or ER this was out of control. So his boss takes him to the Doctor and these people here claiming to be Doctors tell him it is just a bruised muscle and to take tylenol. He has been taking probably more tylenol than a person should be since Tuesday. Told him to walk around every two hours. That was their cure. So I have been up with him the past 5 days. When I told my son that is a REAL Doctor (Oncologist) he said this kind of clinics normally have SO CALLED WANNA BE Doctors just *Usually PAs)that are usually the bottom of their classes because this is the only place that will hire them. Guess it is true you get what you pay for. So unless you have money to throw away and waste I would not recommend this NON-Doctor unprofessional wanna be's. It Plan Tylenol would have helped my husband would not have been there. This people are IDIOTS, Will take him to a real Doctor today or ER

They are Osteopath's, ok for little things but not others. DP Clinic think they are the only show in town. We use the Clinic in Burke for after-hours simple things, you do not have to wait as long and the do what you need. My son uses San Augustine (Spinks) but recently changed their method toe "walk-in"! For an "on-the-job" injury, I would go to ER (not Bayshore) to document it.

I might question who the REAL idiot may be.
It took at least 3-4 days of excruciating pain before finally going to a doctor???

Now, what did you want them to do or tell you?
If they determined that it was only a severe bruise, there is no "cure" for such things, except time. Of course, the recommendation to walk around occasionally was likely to help keep the blood flowing, which will help carry off the dead cells and help the healing process. As far as pain... MOST doctors are not going to give you drugs, such as "pain killers" for a bruise. So what else did you expect them to do?

As far as the people that work there... I've never had a problem with them. If I were a "walk-in" and they were busy, I might have to wait my turn. However, if there is a serious emergency, they would move you to the front of the line and/or send you to an ER if it were serious enough.

Concerning their qualifications, Dr. Metz is a D.O.(Doctor of Osteopathy, not an oncologist). They typically receive about the same training as most Medical Doctors, with the addition of osteopathic manipulative techniques (similar to chiropractors), so they are no less of a doctor than any other general practitioner.

As far as the P.A.'s that are employed, these are Physician Assistants. While a Doctor holds a Doctorate degree, a P.A. holds a Masters degree and works under the supervision of a Doctor. They are definitely more than just a "nurse" and are certainly qualified to conduct exams, diagnose illnesses and write prescriptions, as well as assist in surgeries.

Now, I must ask... who the hell are you referring to in your opening sentence? Who is "you" and where did they say this place was a "joke"? The only one I see reviewing this, is you. By the same token, I find your review to be the 'joke'.

(Now, before I get the usually guessing game about who I am and whether I work there... the answer is NO.)

Had to use the DP Clinic to get sports physicals. Not impressed with the way they run the front office.

I visited the after hours urgent care clinic with a possible broken or twisted ankle. After 6 X-rays, the doctor couldn't tell me what was wrong with my foot. She said orthopedic injuries were not her specialty. She would not give me a diagnosis. She refused to give me prescriptions for ankle brace, crutches, or pain. She told me to go home and wrap my ankle. I asked if she or a nurse could show me the proper way to wrap the ankle. She told me to GOOGLE it! Unprofessional, uncaring, and unbelievably bad, bad, service. Didn't she take an oath as a doctor? DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!!!

I have been using Dr. Metz off and on for several years - cracked my wrist - walked-in got seen within 5 mins - PA assisted - Metz came in put a cast on and out I went.

Yes, if you do not have an appointment it is a wait but hopefully with the new building - the the plant physicals- industrial side of his business - will be going over there and his regular medical client side will not be so overwhelmed. Cross our fingers

Don't worry. There is a new urgent care coming to deer park about a block away from Metz. Customer service will prevail and business will succeed for those that do the best for the patient.

Always go to ER (NOT BAYSHORE)document it and hopefully get right care. Even if he does not think it is serious he should not self-diagnose!

I agree NEVER go to Bayshore. They recently failed, because of their arrogance, to recognize my friend's heart attack even though all the classic symptoms were present. They could have cost a relative an eye because they were totally ignorant of the proper treatment for the injury. Made another relative wait in the ER to be triaged while vomiting blood. Would have waited to do testing until the next morning if they hadn't been pushed to call the doctor, who ordered testing in the night and found a life threatening issue that needed immediate surgery. ICU nearly killed a relative with too much fluid and then arrogantly refused to recognize the condition. They also refused to so a c-section until a relative's baby's heart rate was dangerously low despite continued trending downward. Bayshore attitude is "you aren't sick until we say you're sick, and we will help you when and if we feel like it." I tell everyone not to go there. You are putting your life at risk if you do.

So, that being said, where do you recommend people to go?

Sounds to me you should take better care of yourself cause your family health history is horrible.
