Illiteracy will get you nowhere, you are proof of that.

Is that why you spent a month in jail? Because you beat them?

Heavy needs to run for school board. They have a bigger budget than the city and control more people. He needs to week out corruption there too.

$260,000 would actually be closer to 1/4 billion, not 1/2 a billion. Not trying to start anything, but lets not over-hype this ...
The 1/2 Billion would be the total LPISD Debt. That is almost $60,000 per student. Which is over 4 times the state average.

Yes, appeal to people's greed and avoid sending money somewhere else. Instead keep those millions here to enrich the few inside investors. Before you know, the "footprint" for the replacement school buildings won't fit at the same place where those schools "needing replacement" are currently located. Thus, the schools MUST be constructed and replaced "immediately and urgently" elsewhere, but especially near a vacant parcel of land where a "new subdivision" will go up and bring new millions into the pockets of the "decision makers". What do we call that process?

Actually debt service is added on top of the current tax rate. It is not deducted from. So if you vote for this blank check, you are voting for a tax increase.

Finally... someone else who can see the truth about what is going on with politics in La Porte!!

Corruption is rampant!!

They imported a Chief of Police from El Paso because he would do things a Chief promoted from the ranks of LPPD would not!

Is is a dog on a chain, bought and paid for with the job by the people who hired him.

We must dismantle their entire group... and start fresh.

We should remodel the political process in La Porte and begin term limits.

No person should spend $10,000-$20,000 in an effort to get elected to a volunteer unpaid position!

We need to level the playing field, take the money out of politics at the local level and show the national level people how it's done... don't wait for them to clean their politics up and show us... let's show them how it's done!!

Let's elect normal people, mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers... not lifetime politicians!!

Let's elect people who care about the people... rather than elect people who fatten their bank accounts using the political process!!

The bond will raise taxes on average approximately $12 per month on your property...small price to pay, in my opinion.

If this bond is passed, we will being paying $1.59 per hundred. A third of that will be debt service. We will be a 1/2 BILLION in debt. That's a BILLION with a "B." Even H&R Block can't help you with that one.

There is NOT a half billion in debt. This is false. The current debt at LPISD will be paid off in 2017. The 2014 bonds will be spent over 10 years, so there will never be a half billion in debt.

This vote NO is just lies being spread by a person who does not want safety and security upgrades for our kids.

By the way, the voters were asked to permit a tax increase for the 2005 bonds that never happened. I seriously doubt we will see a tax increase with the 2014 bonds.

You need to read the audit report at the district website. Pg 38 says we owe 170 million by 2024, 250 million by 2028 and 294 million by 2031. Go to texastransparency.com to compare that to other districts our size. Right now we are on the high end of debt per student. If we are stupid enough to pass this it will put us 4 times higher than the state average.
