No, its just another alternative to be better informed as to what is going on since you said many voters do not use facebook. Had those voters attended workshops etc. in the past they would be better informed. I would suggest using open records requests to get real numbers and answers instead of listening to the Piped Piper and his merry men/woman.

I cant think of two people I distrust more to run our city than Mouton and Cernocek.
Except for Pound destroyed his business to the point of being valued at pennies on the dollar, vendors wanting to repo everything and loosing it all to a pre-forclosure fire sale.

What does Jeff Pound do for a living today? Seems he needs this job to save himself.

So you have your gardener, your wrecker driver and Pound. One has run for mayor 3 or 70 times.

Good luck.

Shame on you. Mortician's bring comfort to families who have lost loved ones. I have personally benefitted from Mr. Pound's services and he went over and beyond to bring us comfort. He is an asset to our community and will make a fantastic Mayor!

I was responding to New Me's posting about not knowing about his business. It was a joke and none of your business. No one said anything about Pound's services. I am sure he is great at his profession. Maybe as great as you are about slamming another's business if they are hairdressers. You might be a hypocrite if you go from supporting someone, then not supporting them, then supporting them again. You might be a hypocrite if you say you and your family won't vote, then say they will. You might be a hypocrite if you say you don't like people slandering your business, then take sides with a lady slamming another business over her daughters hair, when you have no knowledge about it at all. You can't be the topix police, if you don't practice what you preach. Now, I think it was a mistake you didn't move and you can still drink your tea alone.

Sorry, I did know e is a mortician, I just had not heard anything about him destroying his business. That's what I'd like to know more about - since he wants to manage Deer Park.
Sorry if I confused anyone. I would still lieo know about any shortcomings in Mr Pound's business records (if there are any) since is business ability may directly mpact our city (if he is elected)

Your original posting said he is a mortican. How can you now say you didn't know that?

Seriously? Did you read my post?
I know he is a mortician..... I also saw a post that said he ruined his business..... I want to know about his business ability.
Unless he plans to finish the job Riddle, Cobb, and the others already started and do the post mortum on the city, I'd like to know about his BUSINESS experience and how he will (if elected) run the city.
Being a mortician does not make you a business leader no more than having a drivers license makes you a good driver.
Deer Park is my town also. When I vote I want to vote for the right person ..or at least the lesser of the possible evils.

The City of Deer Park does not perform as a business, if they did it would have closed the Republic Grill long ago as well as the Battleground golf course. But, they keep spending more and more money and raising taxes to off set their appetite for special projects and to satisfy select groups.

Finally the Mayor, Wayne Riddle, admitted "This course always has been an issue in every election we've had because it is a negative drag on our budget," he said, saying the criticism was deserved”.

So why did he wait so long. He has been Mayor for most of this time, perhaps all of it, and he just now admits that its a drag on the city budget. Hows that for a leader who hand picked Mr. Mouton who has also said in reference to the golf course... how do you go and undo all that since its been here for so long?

Jeff Pound and Larry Cernosek would not have to ask anyone about how do you correct a mistake, especially one that has been haunting the citizens for 15 years. The choice is clear in my opinion, keep running the city with the similar blind folded leader or vote for Jeff or Larry to really move forward.

Mouton would be no different that Riddle in how the city functions and spends on needless, unproductive programs as well as increasing the city payroll, taxes, and debt. The Mayor hand picked him, that should tell you a lot.

Sorry, check out post#10 in another thread, Jeff Pound candiate for Mayor interview. Keep in mind anyone can post untrue so called facts on these post. Unless they were part of the business, how would they know what happened? Also being a landscaper or a wrecker driver does not indicate how the others will run the city. I suggest you contact Pound and the ohers directly to make up your mind on who to vote for, most people on here have their own agenda and smear campaigns going on. Good luck on selecting the right person, whoever he is.

One more thing, do we really want to finish the things Riddle, Cobb and the others have started? If so, the wasted spending of our tax dollars will continue and you can exect more taxes.

As I said earlier, I know both the wrecker driver and the landscaper, neither impreses me as someone I'd want to represent and or manage my city.
I know very little about the mortician.
I hope that the election brings a new and better direction for Deer Park than what we've had for the past few years. If it was up to me, I'd remove the mayor and city counil and the administration and start over again. In my opinion they do nothing but promote themselves.
The golf course is for the benefit of the (big) businesses along 225 so they can take their clients or have their vendors take them to It is not for the benefit of the regular Deer Park residents.
What: You're right. If Deer Park was run like a business Riddle and his bunch would have been fired long ago.
I read that most of the voters in DP are over 60 years of age..... I think we need to think about the legacy we are leaving for our children and grandchildren.

Where does Jeff Pound work and what is his record of successfully running a business?
Fairmont Funeral Home was purchased by Niday Funeral home at pre-forclosure negotiation with the bank. Jeff destroyed it.

AFTER POLICE INVESTIGATE

Pasadena, TX

#81 Mar 29, 2013
Early on the morning of Jan. 31, the Deer Park Police Department received a call from a resident in the 400 block of Kimswick Court. Police responded to the call for service at the residence which is the home of Deer Park City Councilman Jeffrey Pound.

The call for service originated from Pound’s residence. Pound’s wife, according to the police report issued by the Deer Park Police, alleged that Pound had pulled her hair and pushed her.

After a preliminary investigation at his residence, Pound was arrested and taken into custody where he was subsequently booked on a charge of assault-family violence — which is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $4,000, jail time of up to one year or both.

Which other candidates for office in Deer Park or surrounding area have been handcuffed and led to a patrol car after police investigated?

Short list.

EXACTLY. People are saying that they want change...BUT...a vote for Mouton and Boles will insure that it will be the same as it is now.
