Would you support health care reform legislation if it did not contain the government-run insurance option?

Absolutely. Congress should stick to legislating laws and regulations, and let the free-market system work. 20%(9,574 votes)

Probably. I’m still unsure whether reforms will cut my medical bills, but something has to be done. 17%(7,971 votes)

No. The current health care system works fine. Leave it alone and let the free-market system work. 61%(29,006 votes)

Undecided. 2%(1,090 votes)

I'm skeptical. Why did so many people vote for Obama when his major campaign promise was health care reform?

No... his major campaign rhetoric was "Change".

Why do you keep trying to use that tired argument. Apparently you aren't keeping up with the polls on health care or BO.

BO's popularity has diminished quicker than almost any President before him. He's teetering around 50% approval and his government-run health care plan is around 20% approval, which is about the same as the percentage of left-wing Democrats.

I think your polls also suffer from selective perception.

Now, there you go again. You're going to hurt your brain, if you keep overtaxing it, like that.

They aren't "my" polls.
Go check them out for yourself... if you don't know how to find them, try searching Google for Gallup, Rasmussen, etc.

I prefer more official polls like elections.

So, you only like living in the past "glory days" and try to ignore the reality of what's happening now, since it isn't what you want to hear.

NEWS FLASH!
The glory days are OVER for BO. Most of the people were fooled, but only some of the time. You can't fool all of the people all of the time. They caught on to what's really going on and they DON'T LIKE IT!

Despite the left-loons in the House, patting themselves on the back, reality is still elusive to their claims of winning:

Well, they'd like to THINK they got something accomplished, despite the views of the American Majority.

To pass the bill in the Senate do they need a simple majority or 2/3 vote for the bill.

Are you serious? You sit here and complain about anything and everything... and you don't know the basics of American government?

Try Google.

Obviously you're going to pay the cost of your health care.

At present you pay the insurance companies who make very nice profits on your premiums. In return, our system leaves many people uncovered, denies coverage for pre-existing conditions, and drops your coverage if you cost them too much.

The insurance companies enjoy an anti-trust exemption and they take advantage of it. They spend millions on buying Republican and Democratic Congressmen to protect their interests. And then Fox News does what it can to destroy real reform in the interest of damaging Obama politically.

I'm hoping the liberal Democrats filibuster any bill that doesn't have a strong public option. So maybe the Republican strategy of compromising reform just enough to lose Democratic support is an act of political genius.

If insurance companies buy officials now, how do you think that will change if Obama care makes it to law? Will the officials now stop their greed? And if you truly believe that that pre existing conditions will not cost taxpayers serious money either in premiums, or long term debt for the government they you are lost in the wilderness. One way or the other it will cost all those who pay taxes more money than one can imagine. And what about the illegals if this is passed; you think we have massive illegal and legal immigrations now, just wait, a class 10 wave will strike the US withing days of this being approved. You are dreaming, this, if passed, will certainly put the US into fourth world status. Maybe then you will understand this change is not good.

You seem to think that pre-existing conditions should be cause for denying health care.

All other civilized countries provide universal health care for their people. Why is America so reluctant?

Illegal immigrants will not be covered.

Do you advocate doing away with Medicare and Social Security?

How about cutting back on our military spending?

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Cancer

If you want to avoid having a row with someone, get out and about as much as possible today so you can work off all your nervous energy. If you stay in one place for too long you'll be in danger of becoming moody, and possibly even a right old crosspatch. You might also lose your temper with loved ones who are being bolshie or who have the audacity to disagree with you about something. Lighten up, Cancer!
