Does anyone know how to go about getting christmas help for my kids? Before you judge i have worked my whole life. I just receantly lost my job. This is the first time i have been in this situation. I am educatated and not a free loader looking for hand outs. I am looking for employment like crazy. If you have any employment leads please let me know. My last position was hr manager. My kids are 16 and 13. I would like them to have something under the tree on christmas morning. Any advice is welcomed.

Many of the large box stores are looking for Christmas help, it could even lead to full time employment.

Call Interfaith Ministries for help or the Catholic Church. For work, try Meador on Center or any employment agency.

Do you have a lawn mower? You can make $25 a yard easily.

Thanks i will look into those. No i do not have a lawn mower. I live in an apartment and never needed one. However, i will be happy to mow yards for households that have the tools to do so. I can do the labor with the home owners tools. Again, thanks for your input. I feel like a horrible person asking for hand outs. I am used to being self sufficent. This is new to me and lord it is getting me down. Another feeling i am not used to. Any other leads? I am listening

There is absolutely no shame in going through a difficult time. Unless you’re one of the One Percenters chances are you are finding that the all mighty dollar doesn’t stretch as far as it used to. This is the case not only in the USA, but across the globe.
I saw that PeiWei’s on Fairmont had a sign looking for help. It wont me much, but may be of some help until you find something better. There are also programs through the WorkSource where they help you re-train, etc.
Many churches have programs that help people at Christmas, some at other times too. Also the Salvation Army has programs.
Best of luck to you.

Hey. God bless. I will pray for you. If you have a degree in human resources, I suggest that you check out the online sites for United Healthcare, Amerigroup, or Molina. These are managed care organizations and are the way of the future. Look for any administrative type of position that could compliment a human resources degree. Also, an administrative assistant or analyst type of position. These are big companies with opportunity. You need to have your resume ready and sell yourself. Keep your resume short, simple , and easy to read. You can use a computer at the library if you need to. Good luck and God speed

On another note, can anyone refer this lady to KSBJ giving tree. I am using my smart phone

If you live in the city of DP you could check with the Fire Department. They do a Gift of Christmas for families that need help. There is an application of sort that you fill out and they should contact you. You kids may be a little old for some gifts but they may be able to come up with something and they bring food too. Call the main office which is on the website on dpvfd.org .
