SB-2099: Your Guns On The 1040 Form - Taxed So how many guns do you own, legally? Concerning The Blair-Holt Proposed Legislation: Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all. The full20text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage, http://www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099. You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to every gun owner you know.

Thanks "Nope"! Once again folks... do NOT believe all of those emails you get from "friends", who are also duped into sending them to all of THEIR friends. This is just another form of SPAM! Suggestions: 1.) VERIFY ALL "INFORMATION" prior to becoming another "dupe" that is only sending out MORE SPAM to their friends. 2.) Just automatically DELETE any message you receive, that tells you to "Send to all of your friends".(This is what I usually do... so, don't bother sending them to me, as I don't forward most of these types of messages, unless rule number 1 has been done.)

This more than likely came from a spammer, probably using a phony email address (IRS) and possibly other graphics to make it appear as though it was from the IRS. Check the snopes.com link that was provided in the previous post. In addition to the Snopes debunking, here's another {archived} link about it: http://web.archive.org/web/20010815030932/htt... PLAIN AND SIMPLE... It's SPAM.

I thought you dismissed out of hand the articles in Snopes and FactCheck about the Birther Moron controversy. Does this mean that you are now humiliated by your own gullibility? Maybe Snopes is just sometimes a left-wing propaganda site and other times it's ok. Is that how it works, Gasbag?

Did the NRA reveal that this "bill" was a right-wing email hoax?
Even when it's simply reported as a hoax, there are millions of Fox Nation citizens like MadDawg who will get their panties in a wad at the left-loons who pass these "foolish" laws.

Perhaps you should check for yourself, before implying your own misleading assumptions. http://www.nraila.org/legislation/federal/rea... http://urbanlegends.about.com/b/2009/06/03/nr... However, the basis of the concern may have some validity for potential legislation, as demonstrated below.

Barack Obama has a long history of voting for the restriction of assault weapons and other firearms prior to becoming President. A good unbiased history of his statements on gun control issues and his voting record can be found here but below are the important ones: * Ok for states & cities to determine local gun laws.(Apr 2008) * FactCheck: Yes, Obama endorsed Illinois handgun ban.(Apr 2008) * Respect 2nd Amendment, but local gun bans ok.(Feb 2008) * Provide some common-sense enforcement on gun licensing.(Jan 2008) * 2000: cosponsored bill to limit purchases to 1 gun per month.(Oct 2007) * Concealed carry OK for retired police officers.(Aug 2007) * Stop unscrupulous gun dealers dumping guns in cities.(Jul 2007) * Keep guns out of inner cities–but also problem of morality.(Oct 2006) * Bush erred in failing to renew assault weapons ban.(Oct 2004) * Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions.(Jul 1998) * Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers.(Jul 2005) Read more here: http://www.moaablogs.org/battleofthebilge/200... .

Do you think the Second Amendment allows for the states to prohibit the possession of guns?

The 2nd does prohibit the states from prohibiting the possession of guns, as no state has the sole power to limit any provision of the Constitution.
