I call it The City of Deer Park Credit Union because my statements come in an envelope marked: City of Deer Park Federal Credit Union. The envelope also has the City of Deer Park's emblem, physical address and their post office box on it.
Until recently, the credit union has operated on city property.
That's where I got the idea the city was involved with the credit union jack ass.
Jack ass? LMAO!! You're mixed up again, dumbazz.

You only continue to prove that you don't have a clue about much of anything, much less me. Since you don't know if you know me, you don't have anything to talk about. But then again, you rarely do.

You just gave the answers. Do you have money there? Or are you just sticking your nose in something that is none of your business?
Even if you do have money there, I'm sure they are FDIC insured. If this actually happened it is being investigated by Federal investigators and a complete audit of the Credit Union is mandatory. Those type of investigations are confidential, which translates to, it's none of your business!! <quoted text>
if this was a Deer Park bank I'm sure it would be all over the news so if it is true then I too say why no information etc? Did the sudden retirement of the parks and rec. director have anything to do with the problems at the DP credit union? Where is our local news paper reporter, the on line guy or the Broadcaster?

That is what was said. I went to the meeting just to hear an update on what was happening at the credit union.
She said, "Item number two on the agenda, the City of Deer Park Credit Union. We are not allowed to discuss it.But in light of the situation, we have decided to reinstate the loan board."
I would like to know if the city paid for the auditor to go back every year that Dawn worked there or just the last year.
I want to know why you feel the need to discuss the matters of the Credit Union here on Topix. Unless you are a member, it really is none of your business and if you are a member, why bring it up on here? Get your answers from the Credit Union board and stop the gossip!

ARG! It seems that I find myself sort of standing up for Squeegi.

Actually, it sounds like you must have some sort of close ties to the credit union and the activities may reflect upon your own inadequacies and/or responsibilities.

So, did the credit union send out notices to all of its members about the current situation, to insure that they were informed?

I disagree that it is a private matter, only for the members and the Board. After all, how about those that may qualify to become members? Shouldn't they be knowledgeable of the credit union before deciding to deposit their money into the institution?

While the credit union may only be open to a particular group that qualifies, it is not a PRIVATE organization.

By the same token, a credit union can change its requirements for membership, as so many have done to open their services to a wider customer base. After all, Shell (SFCU) isn't only for Shell employees, either.

So, to think that only members should be privy to any information concerning the credit union is ludicrous. It's subject to the same laws and regulations that any other credit union is required to comply with and it is a matter of PUBLIC RECORD.

As much as I want to know all the gossip about this investigation (which, if you know DP at all, is already all over the city), I know and like the people involved. I'm not going to judge them just yet- nobody is guilty- yet.

From what I have gathered, she is the wife of Paul Wilson, who is now retiring. What an embarrassment to the city. His wife stealing money, no wonder he retired. Jail time is probably in the near future. What other corruption is going on in this city of ours. What a shame.

I understand the business was located in a city facility, if that is true then it is the business of any citizen. Now, was it, the dp credit union, located in a city facility, yes or no?

Was it Paul Wilson's wife, yes or no? The citizens have a right to know. If you don't like rumors then come out with the facts. How many trips to las Vegas did he make?

Actually, it matters little where it was located or anything else. If there is an ongoing investigation, the only information you have a right to know, is what is released by those investigating the matter. If it goes to trial, you'll learn the facts of the case, as presented.

Other than that, anything you hear may be nothing more than gossip and rumors and that's how such "information" should be viewed.

So, until the investigation is complete or charges are filed, I wouldn't worry about it.

The shame is people like you talking about others. I hope you don't find yourself in a situation where a loved one does something and you are talked about as ugly as you are talking about Paul. He is a great guy and I pray for him and his family. He needs friends right now, not hateful gossip spewing people such as yourself. You and your type are the true embarrassment and fortunately don't represent everyone in Deer Park.
