Elaine " I DO NOT WORK FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE!" My job pays quite well, and has excellent benefits, and lives( maybe not millions) do depend on my job being done right everytime. The only thing I am b----ing about selfish idiots like you, and worthless scum like Heavy Fed who have a problem with decent people earning a decent wage. So Elaine why don't you and Fed just eat s--t? That's about all either of you deserve.

"eat s--t"? That's all you have to offer. I don't think you or your kind deserve a good salary for that kind of logic.

Ad why do you think I'm selfish because I don want to give you my hard-earned money? How much of YOUR check would you like to donate to the city for raises this year? I thought so.

Evidently you need it, and I prefer me and my kind to a selfish b---h like you. So like I said eat s--t.

This is just another example of those greedy overpaid city workers thumbing their noses at the hard working taxpayers of this town. If they want a Christmas bonus, get a part time job at Walmart uring the holidays.
When you are driving on paved streets, when your trash is picked up or when sewer lines are backed up...thank the Deer Park city workers. When you and your family take advantage of our Library, enjoy our parks, take advantage of all of the festivities offered by Parks and Recs...remember we would not have them if it were not for city workers. Until then I would suggest to you to STFU

Well, every time I fill up with gas I can thank the guy who works at the gas station. Let's thank all of the Burger King workers too. It's a JOB, nothing else. If you don't like the pay, go somewhere else. Still, without tax money, they would not exist at all. Thank the taxpayer who has to shell out thousands of dollars per year just to keep their homes, to drive their cars, to pay for the schools even when they don't have kids.

DPC there will always be those who want something for nothing and others who want others to do jobs they would not do themselves, and they want them to do for next to nothing. They are the me first, selfish Aholes of the world. They care only about themselves, and this country would be better off without them.

Aw...that precious.

So you think I am selfish because I don't want to waste money on government spending?

Now go get yourself another beer and turn on Maury Povich. You are living up to your reputation.

Elaine most of us do thank those who provide us with a service, but I suppose an entitled b---h like you thinks you are too good to do such things.

I know you are selfish, I just might have a beer, but who in the heck is Maury Povich? The one thing you did get right is the fact that I am living up to my reputation. I pay my fair share, treat working people with respect, and call out selfish Aholes like you. If you have a problem with that--- too damn bad.

I PAY for that service against my will. No need to thank anyone for being forced to turn over your tax money.

BTW: When was the last time you used the golf course or the library?

AMEN to this post. This is a lot of what is the matter with this nation today. It is the "Me first" mentality...to H**l with you and everybody else....It is what I want. They do not give a rat's a** about anybody else...and yet everybody is supposed to care about them.

So you think city workers are underpaid, suffering and need a raise?

I cannot answer this question. I do not know what their pay rate is. I am sure there are some that do not deserve a raise....just like in the private sector. I believe the majority of city workers are hard working people and deserve raises

You don't know what their pay rate is. You think they deserve a raise.

Do you really understand what you wrote? Your attitude is what is causing our country to go bankrupt.

You should focus on the criminals who are looting the city treasury and stealing YOUR tax dollars rather than criticizing those who don't want to pay taxes. Get your priorities straight.

Cassie,
Maybe i should put this in perspective.

Us in the private sector has seen our wages decrease, taxes raised, retirement accounts gone, insurance skyrocket and houses devalued. Taxpayers are having to make due with alot less then before..... Too make it simple, we cant afford to give anyone a raise unless we give something up or get a raise our selves to cover it. Most taxpayers have gave enough up!

When public servants do better than the people they serve. It becomes a huge issue.

Most of my family works for the city of laporte and deer park. I do know that most of them are under paid. But until we get out of this slump, the taxpayers cannot take an extra burden. As much as i would like them to get a raise, my pocket book is empty....

So what should we do? There should be a wage freeze across the board until this mess gets under control.

I do understand what I wrote. I also know it is not what you know...it is who you know. Dirty politics is alive and well in the private sector. I am sure it is the same within the City of Deer Park. I have known hardworking, dedicated people who never get the raises they deserve...while the ones who call in sick all the time, put all their work on others reap all the benefits. Why? Because they know how to "talk the talk" and let others "walk the walk"

Which one of you want to pay to give me a raise? I need one. Really, I work hard. You are greedy if you don't pay me.
