Great!. Yet another pet project for us taxpayers to foot the bill for. Instead of Heritage Park, why don't we just
call it Ben Dover Park?. Thanks DemoRats.

Where is this to be located? How large of an area will it occupy? What is the purpose? What is the timing? Is it to be open 24/7. Will it have to be staffed during open hours? Who is the kingpin? I wonder what Newt would think?

I think it will be across the street from you and metro will have a special route to bring all of the tourist to visit the ship and the "oh my stars tower, how did we fall for this waste of money" on 225

If you do not know the answers, why do you reply. If you think it will be built in LaPorte, why is DP paying for it?

Thank you for the info. Now I have to ask how can the city spend one million dollars on such of a small parcel of land? If anything is done around the Patrick's Cabin site it should be made to look like the original landscape when it was used for the signing.

This is cut and pasted from the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce web page. Is this really the place where the constitution of the Republic of Texas was ratified?

Replica of the cabin in which the peace treaty between Mexico and the U.S. was drawn following the Battle of San Jacinto. Located near the Deer Park Courts Building.

Patrick Cabin is the historic home where the constitution of the Republic of Texas was ratified. The size of the replica home may be small, but its significance is felt today across the Lone Star State. The historic events in this building gave Deer Park the moniker The Birthplace of Texas. Built in 1986 in honor of the Texas sesquicentennial, the cabin was constructed log-by-log, using techniques from the 1830s area. The cabin has been moved to the former site of the Deer Park Police Department, standing proudly near the Municipal Court Building at 1302 Center Street.

You will need to refer to the first 4 or 5 posts on this topic to find out how the city can spend 1 million. They could choose to do all, some or none. All is 1 million. If anything is done around Patrick's Cabin site it should be maintained the way it is right now.
