I did not want Jeff Pound to be mayor, for issues I mentioned on this board during the election. The election is over, and for the moment Mr. Pound is a private citizen not running for any office. Don't kick a man when he is down.

I wish him luck on all his personal and private endeavors.

The bro hug I saw on video that Chris and Thane gave Jerry after the swearing in leaves me to believe they plan to work hard with Jerry. There is a lot of mutual respect between the 3.
Where did you see that? Got proof?

I wasn't referring to Rae. Rae has never bullied me or tried to intimidate me.

We had some poor choices for mayoral candidates. Of the 3, in my opinion, Jeff was the better one. He didn't win so we'll move on. Now we need to support the mayor our citizens elected and make our voices heard.
I am disappointed in what I hear councilwoman Beckie Cobb Stockstill did - if this is true - she should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and should be forced to resign from her office as a representative of the citizens of Deer Park

no but she sure came across as a thug with her mail outs and with some of the things she has said to people about her competion. oh and the red carpet treatment she orchestrated at her coranation (swearing in) was just priceless. oh, and why isn't her picture adorning the walls at the Republic Grill like the other members of council? if she hates it that much, why did her and the new deer park power brokers have a planning session there last friday morning? kinda hypocritical rae.

Richard,
My suggestion to you, ask Rae all these questions in person or send her an email.

Since the City of Deer Park is a City Manager ran government, isn't the Mayor simply a figure head? In Pasadena, and Houston and other areas where it is a mayoral government the mayor is a big deal. Here in Deer Park, the City Manger, Jay Stokes runs the city. So what power does the mayor actually have, aren't they simply tie breakers?

Jay Stokes will do what the Mayor tells him to do or the Mayor will get another City Manager.

PeeWee, she didn't have any competition as you say, she had an opponent. Big difference. Mr. Tew, don't be offended because those that eat breakfast together didn't invite you, your not trustworthy. That is all.

That's it. Tie breakers. Its a shame that Jerry Lee will have to abstain breaking ties in matters relating to TNT Construction, Rob Johnson Interest and Grisham and Associates due to the healthy campaign contributions made by them. Copies of campaign treasurer reports are available upon request at city secretary's office.

This is a copy of the email that I sent to Mr. Mouton in reference to the city election.I also copied it to our city council members & Mayor Riddle: Sums up my view of the election minus my personal opinion of the conduct of some of his supporters and perhaps himself as well.

Subject: Wish you well
to Mr. Mouton from Bill Zastrow: When one seeks respect, they must also show respect. Not attending the forum for the candidates showed disrespect to me, those who took their time to attend, and all the voters in our great city.

The councilmen who were by your side at the swearing in attended, but you didn't! You brought disrespect to the office you now hold by ignoring the citizens of Deer Park. My opinion, make whatever excuses you choose, fact is the others attended and you didn't. You only get one chance to make a first impression and, in my opinion, you failed. I wish you well!
Best Regards,

Your note reeks of mental imbalance. It's no wonder so many people think you are a complete psycho. Adjust the meds and relax a little. Your guy didn't win, but you'll still be OK. Nothing says "loser" like sore loser behavior.

I am sorry you feel scorned Bill...but the voters have spoken and the attendance at a public forum didn't matter a hill of beans

I agree with Bill. When someone running for elective office ignores the people he or she is promising to serve it sends a sign of things to come.
We all know Jerry is in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce group and his interests will be dictated, not by the citizens of Deer Park, but by his cronies at the Chamber and Rotary.
Jerry is not smart enough to do harm by himself, but he will listen to others that could care less about the people who live here. He, of course, will have Beckie to "guide" him.
With Riddle gone is just one blowhard replacing another.

If it mattered so much then why did the majority vote the way they did? The attendance of voters at the forum was not enough to sway the majority of voters even if the other candidates did so well...no matter what...the election is over and we should support the man in office because he does represent and speak for our city.
