Quality teachers, smaller classrooms, LIBRARIANS, NURSES, quality programs not being cut, please do the research!
I'm looking for a dollar amount. Do you have that answer? How will you get smaller classrooms? They plan to add more teachers? Where will they put them?

I can't give you a $ amount, but I can tell you less funding equals less teachers and staff which means higher student teacher ratio. DP is trying to keep from doing that more than they already are. Do you think your child is getting the best when a teacher has 32 in his/her class? I can assure you they are not.

I can assure you that you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

The biggest problem is the fact that the district wastes more money than you will probably make in your lifetime.

You need to quit using your emotions (believing stupid crap) and start learning what's going on before making STUPID comments that have no reasonable substantiation.

You're PROOF that our education system is going downhill faster than a dragster in a soap box derby. If you're a product of DPISD, then we certainly have something to worry about.

Whatever.. your ignorance is showing. Get the F out of DP if you're so dissatisfied with the outcome. I'm sure we will all be MUCH better off without the likes of morons like YOU!

The problem is you don't know you're ass from a hole in ground. Pull your head out of your ass for a moment and do some REAL research.

How did the students ever accomplish anyting years ago when classes were 30-35? My grandparents attended school back then and they have done quit well with their education and careers. Answer, teachers were able to teach instead of preparing for the taks test etc.. Teach to learn not to pass some dumb state test. Lets cut the BS and get back to real teaching.

That is a great idea, and I agree with you. Here's the catch...and there always is one. Teachers have to cover the state-mandated curriculum. The test only covers the curriculum. And the curriculum is "a mile wide and an inch deep". So, by teaching the curriculum they are legally required to teach, teachers are de facto teaching to the test.

This is a problem, but not with the teachers and the schools... It is a state legislative problem.

Texas currently administers 12-15 end of course exams...twice that of any other state (or more). How about we talk to Wayne Smith, Mary Ann Perez and Larry Taylor about fixing that for us? They are our elected representatives in Austin...

You people don't realize, that If the taxes don't raise, a lot of classes will be cut from the school, causing overcrowded classrooms, and a no electives (band, choir, orchestra, art). Do you really want to take that away from them?

The short answer: YES.

The problem is YOU PEOPLE don't realize what the hell you're talking about. You have nothing to back up your hypothetical crap and use your emotions to justify your cause.

It's not the ratio of teachers to students that makes or breaks the quality of education. It's the teacher that makes the difference.

We don't need MORE and if we do with less, it's not going to make that much of a difference.

While you cry about the programs that might be cut, you can start with the football program. How many of those do you think are going to make a career from football?
