I don't really know if there is a fine. I have never put a deposit down. I just put out my signs and pick them up afterwards. But I have been told that some idiot employee, on a power trip, will go around and remove signs if it doesn't have a sticker.

just sayin

Yes, signs without a sticker can be removed. 2-10 for missing sticker:)If you refuse to get a sticker you are in violoation of a city ordinance and you should be subject to the max., why do you feel above following rules?

Are you mocking a man that uses ass in the possessive tense when he really meant to use the plural tense? Shame on you, sir!

They have a code enforcement officer that goes around and checks on garage sales. My neighbor had a sale without a permit and it was shut down. If she had defied his orders...I am sure she would have been fined.
Needing a permit to have a garage sale has been in effect for many years. The reason you have to have a permit is that many people were running businesses out of their homes, having a garage every week. Now you are only allowed to have 2 a year, with a 10.00 fee and 25.00 sign permit, which is refundable when you remove the signs. I do think this is unreasonable at all.

Pony up the money for the sticker or donate your junk to charity. Thats the least you can do considering you are bringing a hundred mexicans from all over Harris county to clog my streets and back into my mail box and run.

plenty of people run businesses out of there homes, we just haven't gotten enough people on board the permit to bake cakes everyday out of your home or permitted decorative hair ribbon manufacturing in the home. Does anyone even have a firm number of how many of these driveway flea markets existed? No they don't, but if one did, the story got around and it's automatically assumed that this is rampant, so we all need to ask for permission to use our property how we wish.

The City of Deer Park does not care if you run a business out of your home, unless your neighbors complain about parking, etc. Since Deer Park employed a Code Enforcement Officer, I know of at least two businesses that were shut down or had to move their businesses elsewhere. One was an AC company who had at least four big trucks parked in front of their house and the other was Allied Foundation, which operated on Velma street for years.
