Tanger Outlets opens The Arches in Deer Park

Full story: Newsday

Beyond the black top and the Stop & Shop, Italian villas and European seaside towns are the inspiration for a reality starkly different from this particular stretch of Commack Road in Deer Park.

Gorgeous place, went 2day, shouldn't have opened so soon though, not enough stores occupied and ready to go. Nice layout

Been there twice already.Beautiful place reminds me of a floridian shopping center also the multiplex is beautiful.Great place to go with wife she can shop whule I enjoy the surroundings all stores not open yet.No eateries open yet but hot dogs and lite fair available from vendors.I am sure when the kinks are ironed out and the traffic rush subsides it will be even nicer,I am sure Christmas decorations will be beautiful as long as its not politically correct.I give it a 10 plus.Go and enjoy!!!

It is beautiful and well-planned , but there were no restaurants open and no food court. It was rainy and windy the day we went and there was no place to get warm. Why no food court ? We all had to leave the outlet and go to a restaurant in Babylon Village. It was too far to bother returning. Very poor planning and it's a shame after so much creativity and work went into the construction of The Arches.

I find the prices very high. No real bargains to be found. I could have gotten a $3600 dress for $1900, a $365 pair of gloves or a $1900 Prada bag. Please, get real---have these people not heard of our economy and recession. After the thrill has worn off and the people have come to see it, which I have to say is very nice but lacks a restaurant---the people will all go to the mall where the bargains are with coupons, etc. I have seen it and found it to be a one time deal for me due to the pricing.

I am from North Babylon. Went there once. Will only go for The Christmas Tree store. Thats a bargin. Everything else was the same price as their other stores. Not worth the traffic. Its nice looking but thats it. Wont last. At least the one in Riverhead has real bargins,Pottery Barn, Coach, ect. Thats not here. Ill stick to online price hunting.

Not impressed at all. Love the cinema and the Christmas tree shop, otherwise the stores are highly priced. No where to sit down and eat besides the chipotle place. Very poor planning.

And to think that a major defense-electronics company was once at that location, providing excellent pay and benefits for a couple of thousand employees. Sad.....so sad.

I think it was a misrepresentation on Tanger's part, these are not outlets for the most part. There are a few, but most just seem to be regularly priced stores.

It is turning into a ghost town there now. The movie theater is nice, but the shopping for the most part is a major disappointment. Tanger really didn't do their homework on this one.

So many stores are vacant and some are closing. Not good!

If only they had planned a central food court where there was a place to get out of the cold and have a small meal and a cup of tea and just to sit awhile . It is so chilly and windy there. I am waiting until summer to go back as it is so uncomfortable to be there in most cases.

i agree whole heartedly the movie theater is the major draw in also the christmas shop. why an ice skating rink? for what?
a food court would have been the way to go. they never planned for bad weather. its a shame deerpark was missing something big. outlet shopping means bargins no bargins here. parking is god aweful.
no kid friendly things to do. my kids were bored out of their skulls. oh well better luck next time tanger. out of 1 to 10 i give it a 5.

Wow--you are all a bunch of prissy Debbie-Downers. WTF did you all expect--yes it's a Tanger so it's 'considered' outlet shopping but give me a break, where and when have you really EVER gotten a REAL deal at outlets? The place is NICE, CLEAN and something to do/place to go in the DUMP that is Deer Park. Nice movies, new shops and a few restaurants. Be HAPPY it is there.

Be happy for what, prices are still high and I have the money to spend. I rather take a ride up north and go shopping.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Virgo

Unfortunately, this looks like being another difficult day, and, as Mars turns retrograde, certain people are quick to take offence or raise their voices. Make sure you aren't adding to the tension by doing or saying something that's provocative or even downright insulting. If you get involved in a shouting match it will be difficult to stop and you could say some nasty things in the heat of the moment.
