Term limits were a terrible idea for California. Evans is free to do what ever she wants, she doesn't have to worry about re-election. She's got no reason to make the budget work. Many legislatures will bend over backwards to please special interest groups in the hope of a job after they're term out of office. All term limits have done is made our government more beholden to lobbyists, not the people. Lobbyists are the only ones who stick around.

Like it or no, Willy Brown's back room deals were better for California. A self interested politician wanting to stick around is better than a self interested politician who doesn't care about the future they can't be part of it.

Please pardon my cynicism. My cup runnith over...

Maybe we can recruit Willie Brown to move to Vallejo so he can represent us in Sacramento. I'm sure Willie's back room dealings with the business community will finally spur on business growth and economic activity for Vallejo.
