I just wanted to alert you all that April 4th will mark the 20th anniversary of the disturbing and as yet unsolved abduction and disappearance of Angela Marie Hammond, who was a native of Clinton, MO.

Hammond, age 20 in 1991, was last seen on April 4, 1991 at around 11:00pm, and was abducted around 11:45pm. She was at a pay phone on the corner of the parking lot of what is now the Jim Raysik Chrylser Plymouth car dealership--Then the Food Barne Store, address 210 South 2nd Street.

She was abducted while using the payphone to talk to her boyfriend by a white male. Her abductor was described by Angela over the phone as ''filthy'' looking in appearance, wearing a mustache/beard and overalls. Other witnesses described him as wearing a baseball cap.

This man driving a late 1960s-mid 1970s two tone green Ford pickup truck. The pick up may have had slight damage to it's front left fender.

Most notably, the pick up truck had a decal on it's back window, a Fisherman's decal of an outdoor scene, a scene of a fish jumping out of water.

On April 4th, Hammond dropped her fiance', Rob, off after a Bar-b-Q, about 10 PM. She said she would call him later. At 11:15 Angie did call from a pay phone about 7 blocks away from Rob's home. As they were talking, the aforementioned Ford pickup truck that had pulled in next to hers, and while still on the phone with her fiance, she asked the man if he needed to use the phone; He replied he would 'try back later.' Suddenly, Rob heard Hamoond scream on the other line. Rob dropped the phone and headed towards Angie. As he reached the site, a truck passed and Angie screamed out, "Rob" and the truck sped away. Rob turned sharply, but as he did, he damaged his transmission and could only tail the pick up for several miles until his car gave out.

Neither Angela, nor her abductor, nor the green Ford pickup, have been found since.

I am not connected with this victims' family or friends, however, her case disturbed me greatly and since it will soon have been 20 years since they were robbed of a loved one who should have had many years of life ahead of her.

I implore you, as fellow residents of Clinton MO, to make some noise about this case, and perhaps even investigate for yourselves. Angela Hammond was a Clinton resident like many of you here are, and her unexpected, sudden and disturbing abduction shows that it can happen to anyone, perhaps even someone you love.

It's been a long time, but there is always still hope that justice may be found for Angela Hammond, and closure may be found for her loved ones. Again, make some noise; tell your friends about this sad story; get the word out.

This man, her abductor, may very well be out there still, living among you. He may even be someone you know.

Look through your old photo albums from that time period (1990;1991;1992;1993); You might happen to have captured an image of that truck in the background of a photo. It sounds silly, but such a measure even small can be helpful.

This is Angela's page at the Charley Project, wherein you can see pictures of her, with more details about her abduction.

My ex husband and I lived just 2 blocks from that location when this nightmare occured.

There was a guy on the corner that had a truck that matched the description exactly but the police did check him out completely. I try and think back if I ever saw one like it after that day myself.

The photo thing was an excellent idea!!!

That TV show needs to replay that episode on her again, I can't remember which one it was to be honest.

These are the links to the episode about Ms. Hammond.
Do you anything more about the man who matched the suspects' description?

And yeah I think the photo idea could help. You never know who or what turns up in the background of your photos.

We are talking a long time ago, I just know he had a truck with that same scene and his truck was green but they looked into him if I remember right.

He had black hair and a black beard and was heavy type frame.

I wrote a book about a serial killer named Larry Dewayne Hall from Wabash, Indiana. While writing the book, I considered Angie Hammond as a likely victim of Larry Hall as he traveled to many states as a Civil War Reenactor, including several trips to Missouri. But when I read the account of the abduction, I discounted Hall as a suspect. Then in summer of 2010, I received a call from a detective in Clinton who had heard about the book. I told him I had discounted Hall as a suspect because of the Ford pickup. Neither Larry Hall, nor his identical twin brother, Gary ever drove a pickup of that description. Larry drove vans. The detective mentioned he had somewhat discounted the pickup truck theory. He volunteered that he had an artist's sketch of the suspect in Angie Hammond's case. He emailed that sketch to me and I emailed Larry Hall's booking photo at the same time. When we compared the two, we both whistled. The sketch looks remarkably similar to Larry Hall. Hall was convicted on a federal kidnapping charge for the 1993 abduction of 15-year-old Jessica Roach of Georgetown, Illinois. Roach was found in a cornfield near Perrysville, Indiana in November of that year. Larry Hall's m.o. closely resembles the description of Angela's abduction. I believe Larry Hall is a strong suspect in Angie's case. In the summer of 2011, Larry Hall told me that there are five girls buried in the Mark Twain Forest. He said three were from Springfield. I believe Angie is one of the five. Hall told me he would lead authorities to the grave sites in exchange for immunity. I believe him.

this happened when i was a junior in high school.it got my attention as it did for most people living in and around the area where this nightmare took place.many years have past and still no answers.in my opinon this case needs to be examined once again....perhaps technology and a fresh set of eyes might shed new light.....this is just a thought but has anyone ever considered checking the traffic that websites like this one receive....who visits and how often....people that commit these acts tend to want to return to the scene of the crime.....this would be one way of doing that....it would also be a way of getting credit for the horrific act...just an idea

I heard of a local person who was involved in this matter and I reported it to unsolved mystries. I heard he had a partner in crime who talked about it in prison, he was questioned and admited to some involvement. I heard that since they cannot find the body, they have not been able to file any charges. I feel for Rob and hope he is doing Okay. This is a trajedy and it is scary to think people who are like this live amoung us.

Have tried to contact relatives with this? Has anyone even dug up anything to see if she is one of them? This disturbs me I dont live anywhere near where all this took place and wasnt even born when Angie was abducted. But to think that there are 5 bodies of unidentified bodies buried somewhere that could bring closure to families and no one has done anything about it.

What human beings will do to others to satisfy some sick desire is horrible. When you kill someone you don't just kill that person, you kill that family. I'm so sick of excuses being made for predators who have no regard for anyone but themselves. I'm tired of killers being left on death row for decades because some ACLU person says that it's cruel. If you have proof beyond doubt, through solid confessions, or un-refutable evidence then the death penalty should be quick. Just like a mad dog you put them down, and keep putting them down every time you find one. Sick of stories like these. Stop studying serial killers beyond the basics things. My condolences to the family of Angela Hammond. In all likely hood the killer , if it was a serial killer, has been caught and is in jail by now for other crimes. Most serial killers operate on average 7 to ten years before their caught. You have rare killers that go 20 or even 30 years and that's of course always possible hear but if I was a cold case detective I'd certainly look at serial killers caught after 1991 too. If it wasn't a serial killer and a person who only killed once it likely will never be solved unless a confession is gotten. Good Day, Joe.

My previous post is not meant to disrespect Angela's family. My post assume Angela is deceased. Perhaps I shouldn't assume that. I know hope is eternal. So let me follow that up by saying I hope I'm wrong. I hope were all wrong. I hope Angela is alive and well somewhere and for reasons unknown has chosen to remain missing. If I hurt family with my assumptions of her death I'm sorry.

Maybe her family should contact the Dr. Phil show & America's Most Wanted, if they did that there is a possible chance that they might be able to get answers. If Angela is still alive, then hopefully she will make some type contact with her family & friends to let them know that she is alive. If she's dead, then hopefully someone who has information about where her remains are then come forward & locate her remains that way her family can arrange a proper memorial so she can be properly laid to rest & her family can finally get some type of closure. May justice be done for one day.

I mention this in other forums, and some people get VERY upset, but how closely did they look into the boyfriend? I know he passed a lie detector, but what else? To me, this whole story all seemed very "Hollywood". The strange guy that nobody else saw, even though this whole thing happened in front of a bunch of houses and businesses. Angela somehow picking out her bf's car while struggling in the middle of the night and yelling "Rob!", and the bf giving chase, and coming up just short as the truck speeds away in a cloud of dust...Very Hollywood...Then wouldn't most people bang on every door they see for help? I see no reports of that...We also must remember that Unsolved Mysteries is hardly reliable...They add and subtract information on just about every episode...Remember, the story must remain mysterious.....I know they looked into the bf at the very beginning, but was that it?

Thank you for saying this. Nobody else seems to want to even mention Rob as a suspect. His story is very questionable, just like u said not one other witness to this. He did pass a lie detector test but those are not always reliable. Keep in mind she also pregnant, giving him a motive...

Maybe you just have to be from this small town to know that someone is innocent. Rob was raised a good ole country boy with down home values and had only recently moved into town. He stood up for what was right and did the right thing no matter what. I don't think people who didn't live or grow up in Clinton should be pointing fingers at Rob. If you knew him at any point before or after this happened you would have no doubt that he had nothing to do with what happened to Angela.

I moved to Clinton just two years after she disappeared, and yes there really was a green truck with a fish decal on the back window and yes the man that owned the truck was a filthy man who always wore overalls and still does to this day... It was real then and its still very real... He may not have that truck anymore but that creep is still around this town, please don't say this story is too Hollywood because its very real and some people are still trying to process the whole thing
