While the residents of Chester and Deep River through their budget voting for many years, have tried to control District #4 spending, Essex with their weighted vote have consistantly given the district whatever the schools have asked for without reservation. Now the residents of Essex are going to feel the pinch in their pocketbooks, and it`s about time.

The elitist attitude of those Essex village residents towards the blue collar townspeople of Chester, Deep River and Ivoryton who have struggled to meet their daily life expectations will now be felt by some who live in the village, during these hard economic times.

I would urge all who are concerned with our ever rising education cost to get a copy of the Distict #4 budget and read it. You may be in for a great surprise at what the District pays for items.

Look at the quality of education your children receive from some of these teachers who I personally wouldn`t allow to care for my dogs let alone teach my children.

In these hard economic times there have been no give backs by the teachers or their unions. In my opinion teachers who need aides in the classroom aren`t qualified to teach. 10, 15 or 20 kids in a class and they need help. The cost of so many aides would be laughable if it wasn`t a serious problem with regards to the cost of education.

Most people in my age bracket that I know had classes with 30 or 40 students and one very competent teacher and we have all done fine. While retired we were and some still are business owners or corparate executives.

Too much expense in these budgets do to PC politics, incompetent administrators and Union bullying.
