Dont worry it was in the city so the PD is handling it which is a little better. Now if it were in the county they would have called it a natural death and closed the case by now.

Go back to your trailer and stop with the cliche poor person BS, even your name is cliche. The police dont give a flying f*ck what kind of family he had no more than they do anyone else. They are more interested in catching the killer no matter what the victims background is, you sound like a typical poor mouthing whiny arse.

Dont you just love someone that throws insults behind the computer, shows your IQ.If this guy had the last name of say a Broyhill the SBI would be called to the scene in a heartbeat. Not to mention the local news stations and paper would be covering this everyday.Either way if you are not standing there with the gun or knife in your hand when the LAPD arrives and its not your spouse then you got a 95% percent chance of getting away with it.

Yeah because you find a lot Bernhardts and Broyhills dead behind malls right... you know how well to do people like to slum around, deal drugs, do B&E's and just keep bad company in general right. It's all about life choices and don't expect anyone to feel bad for you when you make the wrong ones.

Yea you probably right ,you more than likely wont find a Broyhill or a Bernhardt behind the mall because they are all in China and South America giving our jobs away.It 's called hypothetical.Say it was a lawyers son or a prominent preacher ..oh wait thats right you just have to live in a trailer park to do drugs and commit crimes in your eyes.Either way the real issue here is whoever done this wont get caught and will still be on the street!

That's a pretty broad general accusation there, name some incidents where the police just totally disregarded a victim (murders) because of their social statues. Most lawyers and Doctors (since I am sure you think they are rich millionaires) keep their children away from situations like that even though I am sure the kids are prone to trouble like anyone else, they teach them from a young age not to embarrass the family and keep their drama hidden (they are not proud of drama and trouble) like the majority of this county seems to be so they go to great lengths to keep it to a minimum. The "trash" seem to wear criminal records like a badge of honor or something.

Btw the Broyhills are not giving any jobs away, they sold out back in the 90's and have nothing to do with the company. The Bernhardts may still outsource but they still have plants open here when they could send it all to China and make more money if they wanted to be a$$holes about it.

Well i dont know about you but i was a pretty wild teen and partied with Doctor's and lawyers kids. They were spoiled rich brats that had no one to tell them no.Plus they always had the money for it somehow and if they did get in trouble Daddy would get them out of it..But i will agree 90%percent of them are the same ones over and over, and do seem to be fond of the title of scum. And no i dont think they are all rich millionaires.Hell I'd hate to go to school for 8 years then spend the next 10 paying back grants. Not to mention all the insurance they have to take out to cover their azzes..Still the point is I haven't seen an arrest yet and probably wont..why do you keep dodging that one!???

BTW, i know they where sold out(Broyhills),same as Kincaids...and they knew full well as soon as they sold it what would happen...you dont sell a company blindly without knowing anything! And the only reason they are anything left is because upholstery from China is shit and the salt water ruins it.Go look on ESC of Caldwell County and find a rough end job,or a sanding room job or a machine room job..you might find one or two if that..but you will find upholstery jobs ,a few office jobs and shipping jobs..cause you gotta have shipping jobs to handle all that Chinese shit.So I guess you think they are keeping these jobs around out of the goodness of their hearts.

My point exactly, I partied with several of them myself as a teen and I grew up middle class myself. I suppose you like others expect an arrest over night in any murder but it doesn't usually happen that way unless someone is caught red handed. A murder trail is a high stakes game where taking your time is almost always the right thing to do unless you want to lose the trail, look at CCSO and the Emily Anderson trail for an example.

People need to learn to stand back and let law enforcement do their thing, gather evidence, investigate, prepare an airtight case so they can win. Make no mistake they could give a crap what the victim did previously, he is dead so its no matter now, they want to catch the killer, even if they hated the victim and he was a thorn in the police's side (idk anything about him) they still take pride in catching a killer. They will take their time and so will the prosecution to make sure they get a conviction, it's a lot like hunting in the sense you can take an iffy shot or you can wait and get a kill shot by being patient.

As far as the Broyhills go well that's another matter. It was their company to do with what they wanted. I don't like it but we should have seen that coming with NAFTA, it wasn't just here but all over the nation. Rich people don't become rich and stay rich by being soft or worrying whether you have a job, that's just the way it is... life is tough that way. The Bernhardts have decided to try to keep some casegood plants and jobs going but look at them, they don't have a fraction of the Broyhills money by doing it. The Broyhills didn't want to fool with manufacturing anymore so they took their money and ran, you would have probably done the same or you would have probably be broke or nearly bankrupt by now, you have to be competitive or you sink.

Im just going by the track record of ALL police agencies in this county...which is not that good.Just like the case you listed, and the Zahra Baker case. It is a high stakes game and the local law enforcement doesn't know how to play it.I know they are not gonna release any info involving that case right now its still an ongoing investigation.Guess only time will tell.

And I'll agree with you on most of the second paragraph you wrote. But keep in mind that everyone of the furniture company's that left was still making money at the time they sold out or went overseas (read a good Lenoir News Topic article on it).Greed is killing this country..with the help of free trade, backed by both political parties...

@ hmmm. Not all people around here are homeless and living on the streets due to being worthless or druggies. Let's look at the jobs we have in good old Caldwell Count. Oh wait, they all pulled out. Some of us do not do drugs, have went to college/got a degree, have been looking since being layed off, and still can't get a job. Kinda hard to pay a house payment or rent with no income. And yes law enforcement do look at these people as if they are all criminals just because they are not prominent in the community. I know many lawyers, preachers, etc. who have children that steal and do drugs, but they pay their way out. Wow, I guess if you can be a druggie and keep it secret you are a good person. Ignorance is bliss, and Caldwell County is full of it.

Man accused of beating homeless man to death admits to crime on camera - WSOCTV

LENOIR, N.C.—

Police said Cory Vanover beat a homeless man to death in Lenoir.

On Wednesday, Vanover spoke with Eyewitness News on camera shortly after his arrest and admitted to the crime.

Vanover apologized for the crime.“To his family, I do apologize to the most fervent extent. And if I would not have been in such a drunken state, that I would have made a better decision,” Vanover told Channel 9.

Wade Taylor Jr. was found behind the Lenoir Mall as police spent more than six hours collecting evidence last month.

The following day, Eyewitness News ventured down the same trail investigators did to the spot where Taylor was found dead near a campsite.

Vanover said he attacked Taylor after an unwanted sexual advance.

Investigators questioned Vanover for more than two hours after spending nearly two weeks making their case.

Vanover was taken to the Caldwell County jail without bond.

He could face judge as early as Thursday morning in Lenoir.
